I like to check CP to know how many people are already on the grinding maps I want to go to...so that I don't go there if it's already packed.

I'd prefer the CP being off rather than the where people are function to be there, personally. Maybe put it to vote?

CP is also fundamental tool for every player to manage their account, update email (which isn't possible considering how signing up leaves the email field blank unless otherwise changed), and most importantly change password themselves. Email is a handy tool to make Aki's life much easier in password recovery. Last function is particularly important as some people are willing to risk sharing account, and sometimes when the sharing need is over, they need the CP to change the password back to a regular account.

The usual "weakness" of a CP is security related, but over past year, CP remains fine overall.

We will be keeping the CP for now at this point in time, sorry.

We attempted a change before in 2008 to keep the who's online but take out the location part, but we didn't succeed at it.

That doesn't answer her question Kadar. She's asking if the who's online feature can be removed entirely. Not altered to show who's online without saying anything about locations.
