im looking for an anime that has some humor in it, but also a good storyline, and action ._. i kinda like the less "modern" ones... which means i think people shooting at eachother is boring =\

some animes ive watched and liked are bleach, gintama, inuyasha, tsubasa, and disgaea @_@

Try Hunter X Hunter. It's got an interesting storyline with an odd blend of action and humor. It's setting is modern though I guess...

The Getbackers is my favorite anime, and the perfect combination of humor, action and story. It's set in modern tokyo, however none of the main characters use guns, just random crappy grunts here and there that get pwned easily.

Hmmm... You dont want something "modern". If bleachs go in that category to you??I suggest you wolf and spice or baccano. Both are damn good but pretty diferent.

Both animes have my favorite female character and phsycopathic killer in the last 2 years :D (Horo and Ladd~).

Code Geass, Gundams (all of em i guess XD) Gurren laggan, Dead leaves, Blassreiter, Kamen Rider kabuto :O (i real life anime? its got humor and epic cool transformation.
