Evil Error! (FIXED!)

So I've been trying to get started up on HeRO for the past couple days.??The biggest obstacle I've come across???This darned error every time I open heRO.exe!

I'm going to be honest here.??I've searched this forum, and have tried just about everything that has been suggested to others in the past, and none of that has worked for me.??I will point out a number of facts, however.

-I'm running on Vista, my firewalls are off, and I've attempted running as Admin/running in different compatability modes.
-I downloaded the latest Ragray that uses Sakray (The 20090624 version)
-My DATA.ini reads like the following.

-The HeRO files are installed in the same folder as my RO files.??I ran the patcher as well, seems to be up to date.
-I deleted the "data" folder.
-The rdata is around 69.7MBs large, the sdata is around 1.13GBs large.
-My Graphics settings in the Setup are set to match my computer's graphic driver (NVIDIA GEForce 8800 GTS)

So yeah... if anyone can come up with some ideas here, I'd like to hear them.

download the latest full installer and update the hero updater. that should fix it.

Strange, I could've sworn downloading the full installer was the first thing I ever did before I attempted a few reinstalls.

And when you say "update the hero updater", are you saying that I'm supposed to run it? Because I may have also done that.

Finally, I get similar errors when I run this on my other computer (A Windows XP), except rather than giving me the "Gravity Error", I get Microsoft's generic "(Program name) has encountered a problem and needs to close" window upon starting the game.

Hmmm is the server in it's own folder or do you have it sharing folders with another server? What OS you are using? Vista?

Like I said... I've done a few reinstalls, and I haven't played any other servers.
Are you implying that the heRO files must be kept seperate from the kRO files?

I have both a Windows Vista and a Windows XP (they're two different comps).??I've tried playing heRO on both of them, and I get similar errors.

The Full Installer is just about done downloading, I'll see if it works this time... though I'm thinking it won't.

EDIT: Looks like the Full Installer is frozen at 95%

It doesn't freeze at 95%, just wait a bit, sometimes it takes a while at a certain percentage.

hmm, just a hunch, but, check for a file called "patch_allow". Open it and check what it says in notepad. If it says "deny", close it, and go to the files properties (right click on patch_allow and scroll down to properties) and turn the read only thing off, and change the text in the file to "allow", save it, and change it back to read only, and try to repatch sarkay.

This fixed things for me a while back, and it may work with you.

@GM-Mass: Yeah, I figured that out several minutes later... kinda awkward that 75% of the program's bulk is in the last 95% of the install.

@The Legendary Joe: I tried that yesterday, and even after I got the sakray to update, I was still getting that error.

Unfortunately, my internet just went dead on my Windows XP for some unexplained reason and my brother is WoW-raiding on the Vista, so I can't say for certain if the game is working now.??Before anyone asks how the heck I posted this, I am using someone else's computer for the time being.

UPDATE: Finally got my internet fixed... I just installed this on the Vista, and I'm now getting the Gravity Error this time...
