<3 Joe...

Worcestershire is indeed good with meat. It supposedly contains various herbs bla bla bla that indeed tenderizes meat. Though usually i don't find it to be especially handy with fish or white meats, it's good to add extra flavors to stir-fries and comes in handy when you don't have access to other spices etc...

Soy> Worcestershire sauce any day of the week Icon_biggrin

soy is more readily usable for various uses, be it sweet or salty. But Worcestershire has more depth and smokiness. Soy is good as a condiment, but Worc's (tired of writing the whole darn thing) is better as a cooking aid...

<3 them both Ok

RE: Food Talk
So I need some input on a dessert idea.

Warm pineapple with a ginger cake filled with coconut custard, served with a rum sauce and chantilly cream

The Pinapple would be cooked with rum, vanilla and brown sugar.
The cake is well a cake filled with coconut custard.
The sauce would be made of rum, sugar, butter, and vanilla.
The Chantilly cream is just a fancy word for sweetened whip cream, or should I have vanilla ice cream instead?

Comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated Icon_biggrin

well tbh i feel that what you're about to do with the pinapple is basically a more exotic twist to the standard poached peach. I don't know if it'll really work, but go go try it out and tell me what happens! Ok

personally i prefer vanilla ice cream because you'll already have a custard so giving more whip cream would make it a bit too rich imho while ice cream would give it a lighter, fresher note.

send me some /slur;

RE: Food Talk
on new year's eve celebration, I stumbled upon a surprisingly good combination...

Cocktail snacks with garlic butter and canned tangerines..

RE: Food Talk
I know this is an odd combination..

But a while back, I got a hankerin' for some hamburgers. Also, I was wanting to make biscuits...

I couldn't decide which to make, so I made both. (Flaky biscuits, by the way...in those popping cans that always end up startling me...)

I went, "Well, maybe the cheeseburger would be good on the biscuit."

I tried it out, and alas- it was tasty.

RE: Food Talk
I've got a little bit of a take on Mac and Cheese myself...

Your favorite pasta for Mac and cheese. (I personally use shells)
3-4 links spicy sausage links
2 1/2 oz Velveeta cheese (Or equivlent brick cheese.)
1 cup milk
Ground black pepper

In a large pot 2/3 full of water, cook up about 6-8 oz of pasta in boiling water until soft but firm.

While water is heating/cooking the pasta, cut up cheese into small cubes about 1/2 inch in size. May want some extra if you're one of those people who eat some while cutting it.

Drain the pasta when cooked completely. Cut up sausage into 1/8 inch rounds. Cook though in the pot on medium-high heat. When fully cooked, lower heat to low and add in milk and 1/4 of the cheese. After making sure the pasta is fully drained, add all of it back into the pot with the meat, milk, and cheese. Add in 1/2 of the remaining cheese and let melt, stirring occationally. When cheese is mostly melted, add in remaining cheese, and pepper to taste, stirring in well. When cheese is fully melted, serve hot.

I've also thrown in ham. 'Twas quite tasty.
