Update on the lag situation
Thanks everyone for your lag time and traceroutes, I've sent that information to our host along with some very evident traceroutes of my own that I was able to get during some lag spikes and that clearly show where it bottlenecks:

Our host is iWeb, and you can see that name in the link in bold, it is evident that the problem is on their network. However the information I sent them has apparently not convinced them. They replied that some routers have protection against excessive traceroutes which can cause these numbers, which is nonsense because other trace routes that same evening but not during lag spike showed normal numbers.

At any rate, they still wont admit that there is a problem on their network, HOWEVER they have confirmed that the "te9-7.cl-vcore05.mtl.iweb.com" is one of their router and have agreed to switch our server under a different router, a move which I sincerely hope will get rid of the lag.

The physical computer the server is on will need to be moved in the host's facilities, which means some downtime for the server unfortunately, but I hope you will all understand it's a necessary inconvenience. I can't tell you how long the actual downtime will be, but I will try my best to have the server back on as possible, if I had to take a guess I would say about 1 hour. It will occur this coming Friday in the afternoon around 3 PM server time, as soon as I have more information I will let you all know.

Summary: There will be some downtime Friday June 11th in the afternoon (around 3 PM) to (hopefully) get rid of the lag!

RE: Traceroute & times of lag
Yay! Server down = Refreshing Vendors' Good! Even better the time doesn't effect me! Best thing is the Lag Spike will be gone! Maybe...
I think I'm finally going "home", renewal is fun, but there is really nothing like "heRO"...

RE: Traceroute & times of lag
Well Joy the fix won't be done until server is offline for a bit as they move from one place to another, so let's worry about the lag only if it persist after the move.

RE: Traceroute & times of lag
Seems the traceroute got two hops shorter, that must mean they connected you directly to the router going to the internet from them rather than some other sub-router.

RE: Traceroute & times of lag
Since the move it went from occasional (big) spikes to permanent lag spikes, shorter, but far more annoying. I am in The Netherlands. Seems that people from the NA/SA don't have any problems, anyone else noticed increased problems in Europe?

RE: Traceroute & times of lag
No, I'm in sweden and I haven't noticed that. I haven't really noticed any lag today. Altough if thats because its gone or if I've just gotten so used to it that I don't take special notice when it happens anymore I don't know.
