Was the Balmung sword ever implemented on this server? If it was, how could someone attain it?

That's too bad. It would probably make an excellent prize for an important special quest, in which only one person would ever obtain it, most likely because they were the first one to succeed on the incredibly difficult quest. But indeed, it is as you say, unobtainable.

imbalanced items like those aren't really intended to be distributed imho... that is unless gravity really did mean to screw up their own game (which time and time again seem to be true)...

250 attack on a level 4 refinable weapon. Get high refine on it like 7 or above (you get +7 atk for each refine), and it'll kick some major butt. Not to mention the +20 int on it, that'll make it the number 1 choice for creators to AD your bum with, and because of the high atk power, it also makes it WONDERFUL for grand cross.

Also keep in mind that Aside from a few RARE exceptions, Generally the rarest weapons people can get their hands on have like 150 attack. And even Rarer still are ones that have major stat boosts.

Since the profile for the weapon states that it can be equipped by any job, I've thought on a few occasions how cool it would be to give it to a priest: Give them a strong bladed weapon, boost healing power and chance to TU. That said, it's odd how acolyte-class characters can't equip the Mjolnir even though they're main physical weapon is mace-class weapons.
