some of us are somewhat luckier to have had exposure to DST, but automatically assuming every other person in the server should also know that it exists is a mistake.
and actually i was referring to how doing @time and then looking at your watch MIGHT be misleading due to how NOT EVERYONE knows exactly WHEN DST goes into effect - sure you can look it up but still it doesn't mean that it becomes second nature to you that instant.

case in point: in my 3 years in the server, i almost missed a TOH due to DST because although i did set my alarms to remind me of it once i saw the thread and accounted for the time difference, there was no way for me to know that DST was gonna kick in between the announcement and the TOH date. Guess i was just lucky i set my alarm for an hour and 30 mins in advance.
thus ever since that event i always check with time zone converters like what shinigami and inasad linked, but i would never assume that others would also have that foresight - therefore i acknowledged what shinigami posted as a good gesture for others who might not be as lucky as some of us.
