Unused job points can be used after job change?

I have a swordman with 41 job level and 2 job points unused. If I change job to crusader, those 2 points can be used for the 2nd job skills?

If so, it's good idea to go for 50 job level before changing class?

No.

The job changer won't actually let you job change until you've used all your skill points.

Even if you reset your skills later, it still keeps track of them you changed, so you'd still need to put that amount into 1st class skills before it'd let you put any into 2nd.
