RE: Make HeRo more sexy
a 99/70 npc. Now that is an example imo that will kill the spirit to play the game for more than a few months. Back to the main discussion, I have one or two characters that I would want to reset due to time it takes to trans lv 95+

This npc has its pros and cons. RO vets nice to have since this is my *th time. New players a way to bypass wizard quest for one. It also makes the grinding element in the game a bit shorter. Since I do not want my wizard anymore i wanna try this class without the grind. The name might be a issue....

I'd like to see how the major cons outweighs the gains. However the proof is in the pudding.??

Rather than a straight-to-99/70 NPC, what about implementing some of those repeatable EXP quests people have been bummed about not having for a while now?

RE: Make HeRo more sexy
ok. This is me in excited mode.

I can convert on of my party relic 99/70 HW into another lv 99/70 char. This on the other hand inspired a renaming concept.

Lots of planning and prepping lies ahead.

This is stage 3 happiness mode.

It's actually kind of bothered me how few low rates have these, or how few used to it's been a while since I looked at any other ones other in a meaningful way. You'd think being an official feature they'd be more popular (well save the ones you can buy the items from NPCs for.) The only one that I would see people having a problem with of the remaining would be sharp leaves, but with the moscovia quest being required to get to the dungeon it seems like it evens things out a bit. Still I doubt they'll be added in there official form any time soon.

RE: Make HeRo more sexy
Seth's hard-to-interpret post (was it a suggestion?) makes me think of the idea, obviously borrowed from a number of games, of an experience bank. Once a character hits max level they could be allowed to "bank" some small % of experience gained (similar but separate from guild tax) possibly using an @command to store it for the account. Later a related @command could be used to withdraw experience on another character. You could make it immensely small, say, 1% or so? Maybe a bit higher, but that's debatable. It would be enough to make early levels go fast but not enough that it's really worth trying to use this method to totally bypass leveling unless it's a class you hate.

It's actually a pretty great way to motivate players to party with established characters because it will still be helping them level less "desirable" party characters if they choose to bank experience while they do it. It gives 99/70 characters a reason (beyond helping friends/guildies/random people) to continue to do parties that are focused on leveling.

It also makes leveling characters that don't get parties often a little more bearable.
- Albus Dumbledore 99/70 Professor - Albus DumbIedore 92/59 Professor
- AIbus Dumbledore 93/50 Wizard - AIbus DumbIedore 1/1 Novice
- Astaroth 99/70 Creator - Dawkins 99/70 Creator
- Exemplar 98/69 Paladin - Equitas 80/47 Paladin
- Mephistopheles 95/65 Lord Knight - Shogo Kawada 97/67 Stalker

RE: Make HeRo more sexy
HeRO is a single-client-only kind of server.
That's one small sexy thing why I like it here.
Of the top 3 low-rates on RMS, we're the only one without dual clienting.

A goofy soul linker left standing in linking animation? Heresy.
A mute sniper with his train of buff slaves in auto-follow? Heresy!
A blacksmith greed slave that unwittingly takes other people's items?
HERESY.
...oh wait we have autoloot enabled...

anyway, I didn't know heRO does not allow that before joining,
and maybe someone out there would seek this kind of server, too,
like in this thread from RMS.
So we could mention it in RMS's server description page...
unless it would turn more people off than in.

Given current population and party availability it would probably be a bit of a turn off for the majority of people (probably a smaller majority then one might thing but one none the less), however I don't see it being allowed any time soon.
