Ok I'm going to put my two cents in now >.>;
I believe we should have something custom thats not just heargear, and isn't the exact same for each alignment, because for one, Light has more people, just flat out numbers beat out the powerful dark members. Although giving the Dark-Dark elemented weapons would give an advantage in woe, they can easily use cursed water. Weapons might not be the way to go, but I would like to see more gear, that requires light/dark points.
As much as I love the Light side myself. Its because of what alignment I tend to tilt tword, not because of little cute flappy wings. And honestly the Dark side really gets the short end of the stick when it comes to cute headgears.
Ok, My personal opinion is that we should have custom accy's that give skills that a light or a dark person would have for example, the light people might have an accy that lets them cast asperio, where the dark could enchant poison. Each are very useful yet diffrent in their own way.
On the idea of Weapons it would be a balance issue, how to not give too powerful weapons out, how to make them useful to every class, and not to give them too powerful of abilities, furthermore the weapons could not be the same power. Ex: A lv4 holy elemented bow with 150 attack. Sound Frimailiar? Easily the most powerful bow in the game a Rudra bow has these properties. However a lv 4 two handed sword with 150 attack would rather kinda suck.. since the attack of a simple Claymore overpowers it. How to keep balance? I really wouldn't know where to start. I think, for weapons at least, we shoulc stick to what we already have.

Sorry to desapoint, but I'm not planning to add any custom weapon in a near future. With all the different classes this is hard to balance and would require a lot of hassle.
I'm also not considering making anything shadow/holy element, those are 2 very different elements and even if they would be fitting with the light/dark concept, they serve different purpose.
Accessories I could consider however.
But enchant poison, I don't think so. We have to be very careful when giving to all classes a skill that is specific to 1.
As mentionned in another topic, we try to make light/dark rather equivalent, we don't want people to choose a side for the bonus they would get on a gear. As the example someone gave, if one side has a holy weapon, someone would join that side to level with it in Nif, rather than for roleplaying reasons.
