Cloudy's Guide: In the beginning!

Hello and welcome to my guide!

This is for newbies and people who would like to know how to get the most out of the ragnarok training at the start of character creation!

1: Creating your character

before you even make your character you should have in mind the class you want then you can do the stats in the creation window to suit your job before you enter the game.
I also think up a good name that will suit the job before I make the character official

2: Where to now

Now you have decided on your character name and what class it will be (or even if you haven't) You will be transfered to the starting map which is @go 15 (For gms)

Talk to Shion she will run you through some things, talk to her a second time and she will give you a free level



RULES
Once you go across the bridge you will come across the rule inforcer by the name of "Hero Guardian" He will run you through the rules of the server and you have to answer at the end, sort of like an agreement.
Read through them well cause if you get it wrong you have to do it again!



NEWBIE PACK
Once you accept all the rules he will tele you into the foyer of the training room. Talk to the lovely old lady in the middle and recieve your free newbie pack and some zeny to get you started,
you can only have 3 newbie packs per account so make sure if you want more than 3 characters on one account you have made enough zeny to account for them too NOTE: user will be warped to basic town unless they hit cancel so make sure to read what she says.



TRAINING COURSE
Next head to the end of the foyer and you will see a young man called
"the Receptionist!"
Talk to him and he will give you 4 options

Either get direct access to ragnarok and miss out on free items and levels or do the training and continue readin on

apply for training = 50z
now you are in the training area walk north and talk to the NPC interface instructor.


benifits of this:
1 base lvl
1 job lvl
1 tattered novice ninja suit

go left to the next NPC "Skill instructor"


benifits of this:
1 base lvl
2 job lvl
First Aid skill

go right to the end of the hall and talk to "Item Instructor"


Benifits of this:
2 Job lvl
51 Novice Potion
Somber novice hood
false novice eggshell
Novice slippers

talk to kafra employee next to the item instructor > about kafra services > save service



benifits of this:
1 base lvl
2 butterfly wings
10 fly wings

go left into the next room

Helper on the left



Benifits of this:
1 base lvl

Helper on the right
choose to do the training grounds

benifits of this
300 Novice Potions

Once you are outside attack something that will kill you fast
I suggest a spore or female thief bug or a roda frog to get the job done quick smart.

OPTION 1

Once you die talk to the help on the right again and she will give you 50 more potions and 1 base lvl.
go back outside and Kill stuff till you are job 10 then die again.

or

OPTION 2

you can complete the actual training ground outside and do the test at the end. and get some other cool items.

"Bruce the Novice Instructor"
He explains about each first class you wish to hear about
"Hanson the Final Instructor"
You can either take the personality test or go straight into ragnarok.
2 Yellow potion
4 Red potion
2 Green potion


After you complete the test Hanson will tell you what class would best suit your personality (sometimes not what you want)
you can either choose to go to the town of this class or choose to goto the town of the class YOU want to be.

Once you decide you get
5 Kafra Storage Tickets
5 Kafra Teleport Tickets
10 Novice red potions
1 Adventure suit
100zeny
END OF PERSONALITY TEST CONTINUE OPTION 1




go back out to the kafra in the main area and talk to her about teleport service

she will tell you about all the towns, remember how we decided on what job you would be? well now that comes into play, now you are job 10 goto the destination that your job quest will be.

Basic classes
payon - archer
geffen - mage
alberta - merchant
morroc - thief
prontera - acolyte
Izlude - Swordsman

when you leave kafra will give you a present

5 kafra storage tickets
5 kafra teleport tickets

and that's it!

Great detailed guide! Namin? thinks that this is perhaps a great thread to refer to for those who are spoiled by high rates and other easy methods to bypass the beginning ^_^ It is of course, helpful for those new at RO in general as well~

It may need to be changed in the future to include the mentioning of the new novice wings when they are added~ But surely, Namin? is confident in Ms Cloudy-Chan's ability in reporting about that part of the heRO universe as well~

You can also get a lot of goodies by finishing the personality test, instead of skipping it xP

Might want to add a little note, that when picking up the Noobie Pack, user will be warped to basic town unless they hit cancel. If you warp you don't get to do the training grounds.

If you want a really fast start talk to the newbie pack npc then cancel 3 times. You get all the newbie pack items and zeny and you can still go through the training grounds.
