Is HerO Server good?

This looks like a good place to play RO, but I want to ask a few things...

Is this an official Ro server?
Does it have any viruses or spyware?
Do we need to pay?

And so on.

I don't want to sound like some game-hater, really. I love RO.

Just that I want to be careful. There's more than once I got a virus in my com by downloading a game.

However, Namin? can say that heRO is one of the few private servers that are rather aligned and similar to the official server in terms of balance between existing items from the official server and custom items. Lack of job change npc, and the specific method how the warp npc currently works give all players a feel of what it is like to be on the official server. Relatively speaking to other private servers, heRO shares a fair amount of similarity with official server (for starters, the lack of any donation item unlike many other private servers. Donating gives rewards in forms of boxes, but there's no donation equipment like most other servers.)

heRO is what is commonly called a "private server", so in no way official, but we do ressemble official servers for the most part.

Rates are 5x 5x 3x, meaning you will gain experience points 5 times faster and items drop 3 times more than on officials.

On a side note, you can usually tell how a server is based by the forums. So far this server seems to help each other out. They're really friendly here, and the overall feel is pretty good.

When you do a review on RMS, you vote for some issues like server economy, gm assitance and so on.

If we have good reviews with nice voting, we go up. If others have more reviews, we go down.

Usually reviews do more than just "higher up a list". Notice like what Ms. Pandora said, a new voting method resulted in heRO doubling its rank from 5x to the 2x now for Top 100? It shows how topsites are not always fully representing if a server got a good playerbase or anything.

Reading a review is more accurate about what does a server have to offer to the players~ (and generally, the low score ones tend to be truthful in that they show both the good and what the server needs to work on as well. Not a surprise, the lowest score heRO got is at lowest, in the 7x, which is not that low at all for the lowest score out of all 50+ reviews.)
