RE: Tournament discussion/questions
Actually that ladder system was the one used in the first pvp tournement of the server, and I think it is the best one.

Problem is that this is on paper.

You need to have a 2^X number of players or it doesn't work. (i.e. you need 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128...).

One way to solve this would be to say "the first 16 to register" will get to participate. Of course there would be a list of the 17-... registered people in case some of the 16 doesn't show up.

Also, a fee for participation, like 1 mil or 2 mil would help people to show on the day of the tournement.

And, of course, the amount collected would be distributed between the top 3, plus the usual prizes by gms.

No loser bracket.??It's already taking long enough to make those events.??>_>??

oooooooooohhh, and to make the event going faster, make it 2 fights at a time, on a map with 2 fightint arena (having the spectator area between those, of course).??And yea, would need 2 gms.??

Or...make it where mages and others can do something to some extent and ban GTB? There are plenty of other magic def hate items out there :p

gtb will most likely never be banned. nor should it be.

RE: Tournament discussion/questions
You can't do perfect single elimination without having it in power of 2. No-show will immediately screw up the system heavily. The closest I can make is probably 4 or 6 battles-point system (5 fight with odd number of participant results in chaos, but today we luckily have 10), then top 4 enter single elimination rounds. The two who lost in the first round of the single elimination fight each other to compete for 3rd place. That's the closest I can get (and it ensures perfect power of 2.)

Currently I'm leaning to this choice for tournament setup: 4 battle by random each. 4 with highest points enter single elimination ladder.

@Krim- besides the problem of having 2 GMs to host an event instead of 1, you have problems called "such a map with 2 arena and a spectator area in the middle does not exist" unless you krimstyle Borf to handle over his almighty map program to us XD;

I don't want the PvP deposit fee to be overly staggering to discourage participation in general... Maybe 300-500k area only. The screw-up today was a human error and my formula should still work as long as it's only 4 fights.

@Aaronock: don't even go to banning of only some specific cards. We allow all of them.

No, just didn't know what timezone exactly the server lies in. Didn't really want to wait around 12h to check that >.>
