RE: Good tidings.
Altaire: Many thanks for the warm welcome.

Aaronock: You flatter me, but thank you for the welcome none the less. As for teaching your other-half about Linux, or how to play about with it, I'd be more than willing to help. Though playing about with Linux and breaking it is abit of a headache to fix =). Also thanks for the offer on roleplay help, I'll probably need a few pointers to help me get into the setting.

G?n?ral_Argos: You read only 10 to 20% of introduction posts? Forgive me for being rude, but that's pretty damned lazy =). My thanks for the guild offer though, I think I'll wait till I develop a character before I decide what guild I should join, or my character rather.

mahawirasd: A vet in what sense, with RO or...? And yes, I have read through the wiki and the forums. Very informative and well laid out, kudos to whoever wrote them (Pandora amongst others I would imagine).

teOx: Ah...there's always one. I quite agree on your "don't think" statement. Points for admitting it early.

Well part of learning something is messing it up beyond belief sometimes. Being an artist allows me to understand, and it probably easily applies to most other hobbies.

In all honesty, I read about all the posts in the intro thread, but responding to them is another matter entirely. Usually catch the new guys in game at some point.

You have to forgive teOx, he has tourettes, but we give him <3 anyway.

RE: Good tidings.
Aaronock: Pain is the best teacher, and messing around with computer to the extent you stay up for several days to get a game working on a system it's not designed to is always insightful. For example, When installing the full heRO client with the BGM files it failed to work, let alone install correctly. Yet with the non-BGM package it worked perfectly. Well, not perfectly but it did manage to patch heRO, which is a step closer.

I just need to figure out why the server won't let me connect. Checked the packet route via iptraf and it's going to the server address (pandora.bounceme.net:6900 [24.201.55.164:6900]) yet something is amiss. Quite annoying really.

RE: Good tidings.
G?n?ral_Argos: Just checked. My system and the server DO seem to be communicating, as I received 3 packets after submitting the login information, then received 4 more after the "Failed to connect to server" error, so a total of 7 incoming packets.

I know that RO works on Linux, as I was playing another server just last week. Just too much tinkering required.

RE: Good tidings.
The server is in reboot/new content mode until approximatly 11:30 pm for now so you won't connect as the connection is close O.O

Good luck though and hope to see you soon on heRO Icon_smile
