Why do you play RO?

it's supposed to be fun imho...
so whenever it starts to feel like mindless grinding i go and play dota...

didn't like RO at first coz it killed nexia, but tried playing a bit due to several friends and when i found HeRO it became a game that bound me and my then-GF-now-wife to spend time together, do quests and ToH together... all thx to HeRO!

Well, many things for me.
One, this gamecommunity makes grinding the high levels seem a lot less like... grinding (assuming you find yourself a good party).
For two, I have real life friends here, a few of which I can't really contact without heRO.
Three, I'm somewhat socially awkward in real life, not exactly the shy thing that Good Knight said, but somewhat similar. For me, it's more that... Well.. I'm not really sure what my problem is in real life conversations... Just that it's not that I'm shy...
And Four... It's an escape, a place where all my real life woes can melt away.

All of the above are... FUN!

For fun, of course. It is a game. When the grinding gets annoying, I'll stop and sit in town or take a break to do something else.
I also come on to talk and hang out with people.
To escape real life and chill for a bit.
And I'm too shy for real. I feel like I can really let my personality out online and care less what others think of it.

Also got to know some very good friends.
Since they live like 14 hours by plane from me, I had never known such great persons w/o the Internet ;D

I play RO mostly because it's fun, and usually the community is more mature than in most other games. Also, I feel that RO has 'something' that most current MMOs lack. Don't ask me what, but nowadays I just can't find a game that is nearly as attractive as RO.

I use to play for the people when i first started playing RO, but now its more for the PVP/WoE, all the friends i made 4 years ago when i first started RO stuck with me for years, it sucked seeing the majority of them all quit. Havnt gotten close with anyone on RO since then though, so im pretty much all PVP/WoE

I play ro to meet people and escape reality somewhat, i also like the fact like good knight said . you can be more outgoing. The reall Saiichi in real life is alot nicer thatn what i usually behave ingame.
