heRO SvN Update

A much long awaited SvN Update is scheduled for heRO server on Aug 8 2009. The exact time of the update is yet to be determined but it will be posted shortly, most likely in morning time. Server will be temporaily down during the update. We currently have no estimate on the time it'll take for SvN to update.

Like in the past, SvN Update content is released in phases specified by GM-Pandora.


What is needed to play?
Players have to update their Sakray up to and including episode 13.2- Into the Unknown. Since kRO moved completely on to renewal, updating sakray through clicking the sakray.exe can be difficult. Try the 'normal methods' to update sakray first.

Later we will also release a new full installer (which should be ready by Aug 8) if you can't find any other method. The full installer will definitely allow you to play on SvN update.

If you are trying to find an already updated sakray/kRO and etc from another website (such as ragray), we can't guarantee that it connects to heRO perfectly. But you are welcomed to try if you choose to do so.

On Aug 8, you will need a new client window to play, which we will provide in the heRO forums on that day. *Using old client to play when we SvN update can result in tremendous amount of errors and other absurdities!*


Immediate New Features
The following new features will take effect the moment SvN Update is complete:

-new skill window
-new ingame world map (CTRL+~ )
-new aura for lv 99
-kafra storage upgraded from 600 to 800 700 items (Sorry our mistake)
-12 character slots per account instead of 9
-new broadcast for a character upon rebirth
-new dead branch room that eliminates the old abuse problems
-server broadcasts a 15 minute warning before start of War of Emperium
-heRO Bulletin Board item upper limit increased to 5 mil
-nobility board has a new NPC (aesthetic change only, replacing current board)
-new custom Sailor Hat quest (starts in Amatsu) Sorry broken for now to be released at a later date
-new custom Advanced Mining Spot
-new Mining Hat (boosts your goods in mining, similar to Big Fish Head)
-new map for Trial of Heroes' waiting room, trivia room and prize room
-new WoE Treasures (see here)
-slightly improved monster AI (pathing issue)

Immediate Balance/Content Changes
The following balance changes will take effect the moment SvN Update is complete:

-Angeling and Ghostring removed from old card album
-Readjusted mining and new mining spot's drop rate and goods
-Fixed spiral pierce, ankle snare, spider web related bugs on MvP teleport spell
-Fixed item descriptions to reflect the equipments/items actual effect with more details (especially custom items)
-Bullock Helm now gives 3% chance to reflect any single target spell
-Moscovia dungeon 1 no longer has any fixed spawn point for Les and Wood Goblin, but the total amount of Les and Wood Goblin are increased by 5 as compensation
-Updated dead branch to randomly spawn new monsters as well
-Updated bloody branch to spawn the following as well: Skoll, God Poring, Levia Lusca, Tendrilrion, Piamette, Kublin, Valkyrie (the mini-boss)
-Updated poring box to spawn the following: Aquaring, Magmaring, Sapling, Masterdrops, Santa Poporing, Heavy Metaling, God Poring, Hollow Poring

New Content in Future
The following will be released in various phases, so please be on the lookout to their release date from GM-Pandora!

-dimensional gorge/satan morroc
-new world: splendide field and manuk field
-custom dungeon: Fairy's Paradise (to be accessed via Fairyland)
-berserker's scar/nidhoggur's shadow

New Monster Drops
The following changes on monsters will take effect the moment SvN Update is complete: (drop rates are still subjected to change as we still have more testing dates scheduled before Aug 8)

-Violy now drops Bass Guitar[1] at 1.5%
-Fake Angel now drops Carrot Whip at 0.6%
-Drake now drops Krysnaya[3] at 3%, his other drops are also boosted in drop rate
-Maya drops Staff of Tethyr[1] (renamed from Staff of Thea) at 3%
-Archangeling drops Evil Wing and Angel Wing both at 0.60%
-Orc Hero drops Giganto Axe[1] at 3%
-Dark Lord drops Chronos at 3%
-Phreeoni drops Biner[2] at 3%
-Samurai Spectre drops Krieg[3]** at 4.5%, Masamune at 0.6% instead of 0.06%
-Bacsojin correctly drops Tiara[0] and Red Silk of Seal at 3% instead of previous typo of 0.3% each
-High Wizard Katrinn (MvP) now drops Lacrima Stick[2] and all of her other drops at 100%, excluding card
-Gopinch now drops Ixion Wings[1] at 3%, Staff of Ord[1]** at 3%
-Sage Worm drops librarian gloves[1] at 0.3%
-Skeleton General drops Sandstorm[4] at 0.3%
-Creamy Fear now drops Icarus Wings at 0.3%
-Killer Mantis drops Double Bound[3]* at 0.3%
-Owl Baron drops Gentleman's Staff[1]* at 0.3%
-Caterpillar drops Desert Twilight[2] at 0.3%
-Giant Hornet drops bowman scarf at 0.3%
-Leib Olmai drops pocket watch at 0.3%
-Gajomart drops magic bible vol.1 at 0.09%
-loli ruri drops lunatic brooch at 0.3%
-dullahan drops eye of dullahan at 0.3%, manteau[1] at 0.3%

*Gentleman's Staff[1] is unobtainable anywhere usually. This item is given to owl baron since it is fitting for the monster, and moved his original drop the Double Bound[3] to another guild dungeon monster who did not get a new drop (even though the vast majority of woe1 guild dungeon monsters having one new exclusive drop.)

**These 2 items are moved away from their original MvP that drops those items. The original MvP that drops them are always reasonably popular of a hunt either due to custom additional items or got good drops that are still useful today. Thus they are moved to mvps that are sensible to hold them and need the boosted motivation to hunt those mvps, in order to help with their low popularity.

Information on the new world monsters are best searched with @mi due to their many changes and new items by Aug 8.

The following monsters are fully customized and will not resemble what you may have read about their official state (and their official lameness) in terms of the monsters' stats, strategy and AI. Usually they retain their new drops but at adjusted drop rates. Their location to be found ingame is given in brackets.

Buggy Items
The following items are buggy and lost part of their effects. Ingame item description will also mention these problems as well.

-Invoker of Death: will not activate Vampire's Gifts and Hell's Dignity effect
-Eraser: will not activate Wide Soul Drain effect
-Roubel: impossible to script its effect on this svn, taken out completely
-Erde: lack of sprite for this item causing gravity error, taken out for now
-Red Square Bag: lack of sprite for this item causing gravity error, taken out for now
-Chameleon Armor: impossible to script the "temperate magic immunity" effect, taken out for now
-Staff of Tethyr (Staff of Thea): will not activate the sp recovery ability when using Heal. This one is not mentioned ingame in item description, and its warning will be added upon next patcher.

Disabled Features
The following are features that are *not* included in the new SvN at the current point of time. These features may still be released in the future. Reasons are also listed if applicable.

1) war of emperium: special edition
-technological difficulty (for those who are familiar with how eA works, the techno-specific reason: there's some coding issue of stable vs trunk)
-lack of population to have a steady WoE:SE
-woe time concerns (and other concerns listed in previous woe-related discussion threads)

2) any instance dungeons
Reasons why instance dungeons are not included are divided to the 3 instance dungeons. Beware of techno-babble such as "trunk" or "stable" (all you need to know is that, we are not on "trunk")
-Endless Tower: the link given to heRO server forums in the past about instance Endless Tower, only works on an older version. The "teleport issue" on the MvPs seem to be unavoidable unless we are on trunk.
-Sealed Shrine: eA didn't code the monster spell "invincibility" yet, so it's rather self defeating in purpose for Great Demon Baphomet
-Berserker's Scar: this particular instance dungeon actually got no cooldown of entry time, so given our population, it's not very likely we'll see 5 parties all trying there at once anyway... this will be made into a regular dungeon that requires party entry (similar to Thanatos Tower) instead in the future.

3) battlegrounds (all versions)
-technological difficulty (for those who are familiar with how eA works, the techno-specific reason: there's some coding issue of stable vs trunk)

4) mail system
-dubbing issue is still not fixed, so let's not release a feature capable of dubbing. No discussion on releasing this until dubbing issue is fixed by eA.

5) auction system
-forum auction suffice for our population, plus there's lack of room for customizing the script, not all that useful of a feature

6) mercenary system
-more gimmicky of a RO feature even if it's fully functional which it isn't (what do they exactly do besides being a weak version of a homunculus to tempt more people to go afkemist? Their only practical function is probably just sharing the pain of earthquake?)

7) continental seal quest
-it's simply not done by eA, *but* Pandora is on the way to script this one herself to the closest mimick of iRO continental seal quest as possible

8) all new world quests
-lack of information and data about them to know what they are and how to script them

9) Vision of Okolnir
-just like how we took out Seal Quest (god item quest) for WoE:1, likewise we won't release god item quest for WoE:SE even if we do have WoE:SE. Monsters unique to the Vision of Okolnir are relocated elsewhere.





NO, this SvN update does NOT have Renewal mechanics or 3rd jobs!!

For 3rd jobs to even exist, one has to have the renewal mechanics set in. And for renewal I have a feeling that most servers won't implement it. So if you look at things that way, no renewal=no 3rd class.
