Ch. 2- [Light] Resurrection of Satan Morroc

To All the Faithful Upholders of the Divine Laws in the Name of Our Goddess of Light, Hestia


Though sorrow may have filled the hearts and dampened the spirit of the Order of the Light Allegiance, there is always a beacon of hope by the guidance of Light at the end of the hardship.

One of the Six Saints in the Order of the Light Allegiance, St. Vitus of Light, was sent by me directly to try to assist you all in the grave situation in Rune Midgard in the struggle against the Scourge of the Dark Allegiance. In the past battles against the Dark Conjurer Eudoxie, St. Vitus initially holded great success against the conjurer. He helped the allegiance in breaking the summoning bond against the beast of fire, Skoll, to release him back to the Nogg Road. He also assisted the allegiances in chasing Eudoxie almost to a dead end. It is the most unfortunate and it griefs us all to hear that St. Vitus suffered a critical wound in one of the battles, and sadly departed from us forever by the works of the wretched outlaws of Eudoxie.

Yet the Goddess Hestia is kind and merciful. She did not allow us to crumble like sand and be reduced to dust. With order comes strength and the laws as our guidance to walk her will, and the same cannot be said for the lawless ones in darkness. Eudoxie committed another atrocious crime to betray her very own teacher in magical arts, the archmage Mystra. The Dark Allegiance was divided by the internal conflict, and confused over who is to be the future leader of the Dark Allegiance. Such is the end for those who refused the Light of the Divine Laws set by the Gods and chose to follow the chaos created by the Dark God, Erebos. Refusing to accept the laws as our guide, mediator and protector, the Dark Allegiance lost all sense of direction, and nothing was accomplished as everyone tried to act on whatever they see fit for themselves. Eventually, Mystra ended the life of her very own student in a battle, as if the Dark Allegiance had its left arm cut off the right. It is a spiral of painful conflicts motivated by self greed and an extreme interpretation of personal freedom that even defies the will of the Gods that were passed on to us in the form of the Laws. And this, my fellow friends, is the true hideous face and only end for the Scourge of the Dark Allegiance.

Do not let this event drop your guard against the Dark Allegiance, for one must stay alert to resist their temptations to see through their deceitful ways. The seal on the demon king, Satan Morroc, has weakened through time and the demon king has broke free from its cell below the city of Morroc, escaping into the Dimensional Gorge as it tries to regain its lost strength due to the ages. Such great powers of destruction must be eliminated to protect the year long history of prosperity brought to this world by the grace of Goddess Hestia with her holy laws and orders. The stability of the world must not be harmed because of this demon. Do not feel intimidated because of our enemies, as we the upholders of Hestia's order must fight on for the greater purpose. We must destroy Satan Morroc before the Dark Allegiance make their deals with the demon king. The Dark Allegiance members are ones without morals or personal ethnics, as they do whatever they please. It is not unreasonable to believe that they will try their old tricks to enslave the demon king as a summon to their own bidding, similar to how Eudoxie tried to do so with Skoll and Surtur in the past. Fellow righteous upholders of the law! We must not let this happen and we will fight in the name of our Goddess Hestia to protect the stability of the world!

I have recently encountered a sorceress of great power who shares similar values and disgust towards those of the Dark Allegiance along with their lawless ways. Lady Circe will assist us in the upcoming battle as she prepares a gateway towards the hidden Dimensional Gorge, where the Order of the Light Allegiance will defeat Satan Morroc. Meanwhile, I will organize the best of the most skilled warriors within our allegiance to attack the Scourge of the Dark Allegiance. They will engage the archmage Mystra, as Mystra is most likely the chosen one by Melot of the Dark Allegiance to lead for their upcoming mission in the Dimensional Gorge. If we are able to defeat her there, we will not only disrupt the Dark Allegiance's plans greatly, but also bring glory to our Goddess against those who refuse to obey her Orders. Not without surprises, the Dark Allegiance fears our presence, and the nobles who are serve the Dark God also lent their aid for Mystra. To ensure that we will succeed while sustaining minimal losses, I have decided that our forces against Mystra will only include those proven worthy of being a true hero through the Trials of Heroes. They will restore order and give a light of redemption for those lost in the dark allegiance, the nobles who support them and even the archmage Mystra if she is willing to change her aways.

Give thanks to the Goddess of Light, Hestia, and all that is good because of her grace through her words on the Law. Give thanks to her holy Order that gave birth to the current day society since the end of the War of Agony. Give thanks to her blessings over us in the upcoming battle against Satan Morroc, the Scourge of the Dark Allegiance, the nobles who lost their ways to darkness, and the Archmage Mystra. Give thanks!

"Resurrection of Satan Morroc" will be a 2-part event taking place over multiple weekends. The 2 parts will be divided as: battle against the Dark Allegiance, and battle against Satan Morroc. However, the 2nd part against Satan Morroc is *missable* depending on the outcome on the first event. Please read the event details.


Part 1- Battle Against the Dark Allegiance


General Information

Light Allegiance members will engage against Dark Allegiance units in a large scale PvM event that not only challenges your abilities to fight but it is also a race against time.

Light Allegiance members will battle their way across 25 floors down in order to break the "Dark Allegiance Emperium," the main magic channeling device used to find the path to the Dimensional Gorge, on floor 26, guarded by Mystra personally. The floors will be heavily guarded by newly designed Dark Allegiance units, along with 3 MvPs modeled after the top 3 nobles within the dark allegiance for you to battle (which, the 3 nobles will also help with the very creation of the MvP themselves.)??

Time of Event

The event is hosted on Oct 3rd 6 PM server time. Event is expected to be no more than 2 hours long in total.

Event Detail
-event is *exp loss* meaning you lose 1% of your exp upon death, except the last floor #26, which is not exp-loss
-excluding floor 26, teleport and fly wing are disabled
-no cute pets allowed in the event
-GM will NOT recall if you respawned on death
-performance is recorded based on how far the allegiance reach within the 26 floors, and how long did it take

If there are enough participants to form more than 2 parties, then you will be divided into 2 groups of your choosing, each group consisting of 2 smaller parties. GMs will prepare 2 identical map for this event, 1 map for each group. This ensures that no problem caused by overcrowding will exist. The performance record for your allegiance will be determined by the *average* performance score of both groups. With this in mind, be sure to spread out the strong, well geared players throughout both parties if necessary (especially ensuring that both teams got roughly same number of priests.)

Winning Condition and Effects of Winning

The records of performance will be used to compare with the Dark Allegiance Players' performance in their respective similar event. The allegiance that traveled down to a higher floor will win this competition. Should both allegiance arrive at the same floor, then the allegiance that took a shorter amount of time will be declared winner.

Your primary goal is to try to reach a farther floor than the Dark Allegiance does in their respective event. Try to do it in the quickest amount of time so that if in the rare situation where both allegiance reached the same floor, then you will win due to using a shorter amount of time.

Winning against the Dark Allegiance has no effect on your prizes. BUT, the effect of winning against the Dark Allegiance is that you have successfully caused a greater disturbance in their ritual towards the Dimensional Gorge, thus ensuring that you are allowed a chance to participate in the 2nd part of the event to battle Satan Morroc. Should you lose in Part 1 here, the Dark Allegiance will be the first to travel to the Dimensional Gorge to proceed with the 2nd part of the event. (Please see the Event Part 2 details for more information)

Who can participate?

You must meet all of the following criteria

-level 89 or higher (trans or non-trans doesn't matter, only base level does)
-show your worth and power by showing at least 1 ToH exclusive gear, the angeling tower hat or showing that you have a Blessed Helm in possession
-you must be fully aware that the event is exp-loss and is willing to bear all potential losses
-GMs will not resurrect anyone in the event

Prizes


The following prizes are cumulative. Add all that applies for the teams per map.

Participation:
-5 allegiance point

Defeating floor 10 successfully:
-50k + 3 GB

Defeating floor 15 successfully:
-2 BB + 1 taming gift set

Defeating floor 20 successfully:
-150k

Defeating floor 25 successfully:
-OCA

Defeating all 26 floors successfully:
-2 enriched elunium
-2 enriched oridecon

Of course this doesn't include any potential drops from the monsters within the event.

Event Expectations

You should be comfortable with Thanatos Tower level of difficulty. Event will have a slow start, but the difficulty will pick up. Difficulty shouldn't exceed that of Thors floor 3. You will see 10 new standard "light allegiance units", 4 noble units, 1 monster mvp, 3 noble mvp (noble mvp will not be affected by Gold Feather Hat's noble monster immunity effect), and then Mystra's team on floor 26.

You should be packed with healing items, blue gems for your team's priests which you will really need for SW, Sanctuary and Resurrection. Yggdrasil leafs also help in case of emergency.

Monsters will be mainly demi-human in race with a few other races, so bring all applicable gears. The emperium on floor 26 is angel/ghost1.

You will *not* fight pure dark elemental monsters. You will face a wide array of elements, including holy.

Part 2- Battle in the Dimensional Gorge



General Information

The allegiance that successfully disrupts the other allegiance in their ritual to the dimensional gorge will have the first opportunity to challenge the demon king, Satan Morroc. Defeat the Quest Satan Morroc and claim absolute victory!

Who can participate?


You must meet all of the following criteria

-level 89 or higher (trans or non-trans doesn't matter, only base level does)
-show your worth and power by showing at least 1 ToH exclusive gear, angeling tower hat or showing that you have a Blessed Helm in possession
-you must be fully aware that the event is exp-loss and is willing to bear all potential losses
-you do NOT have to have attended the part 1 of the event to attend this part
-you must belong to the allegiance that won in part 1 of the event


Event Details

The allegiance that got a better performance rating in previous part will assemble. They will be teleported to the Dimensional Gorge, filled with Morroc's incarnations and Quest Satan Morroc awaits.

-the dimensional gorge is "moc_fild21" which you can view the information of in RMS
-the dimensional gorge will be exp-loss, so attend at own risk
-no cute pets allowed
-GM will not recall the party
-map allows teleport/fly wings
-GMs will give 5 map-wide resurrection (note: we will NOT recall before resurrection, though we will broadcast that we will resurrect everyone on the map. It is your own problem if you got raised but died immediately after. Fly Wing and fast teleport will really help at this point of time.)


Notice that this is against the *quest satan morroc* which has a significantly higher HP than Wounded Morroc. Also, Quest Satan Morroc does NOT drop any diabolic gears. Please be clear of this.

Should the allegaince that won in part 1 fail to kill Satan Morroc when all members are wiped out/respawned, and they have ran out of GM's map-wide resurrection, then they lose in the battle against Satan Morroc.

Should this occurs, then the allegiance that lost in part 1 will have their opportunity against Satan Morroc under the same rules on another date. This date will be given later if necessary.

Thus, you see that winning in Part 1 of the event is extremely important. If your allegiance lost in Part 1, and the other allegiance won against Satan Morroc, then your allegiance will lose the chance to fight Satan Morroc within this event scenario!

Should both allegiances lose, then another event will be held as an aftermath. Information for this will be given later, if necessary.

-1 of the following: Continental Guard Seal, Death Medallion, Rune Charm Stone
-1 of the following: ring of wind, ring of fire, ring of water, ring of earth, pinguicula's corsage[1]
-10 allegiance point
-1 OCA
-1 Pixie's Letter
-3 enriched elunium
-3 enriched oridecon
-1 drop of choice from any morroc incarnation

-5 allegiance point
-1 glorious basic ring B

Important note: this WILL NOT be the only opportunity to get Continental Guard Seal, Death Medallion, or Rune Charm Stone. These accessories are from the Continental Guard Seal quest, which when it is added to heRO, you will also have a chance to obtain them. This is only a place to obtain them earlier along with other small gifts.

FAQ


1) So when is the continental guard seal quest coming out?

-At the point of writing, I just submitted a 1st draft of the quest to test server, so it's out whenever it's made ready.

2) Is Satan Morroc identical to the official one?

-No, because 4 skills that Satan Morroc has are malfunctional. Hell's Dignity, Hell's Power, Wide Soul Drain and Vampire's Gift won't be used. Instead, Satan Morroc will do the following skills:


Hp at 10-30%
-will not use hell's dignity
-wide stun every 30 sec down from 180 sec
-multi-heaven's drive every 10 sec
-earthquake kept the same at 180 sec

Hp at 31-40%
-lv 11 meteor storm instead of level 5 every 20 second
-pulse strike and wide stone kept the same

Hp at 40-50%
This portion is almost completely revamped due to lack of vampire's gift and wide soul drain.

-retains evil land lv 10 at ever 40 sec, down from every 50 sec
-wide silence every 30 sec
-wide sleep every 25 sec
-50% of blood drain every sec
-20% dark soul strike every 7 sec

Hp at 51-60%
-will not use hell's power
-hell's judgment retains its cooldown of 35 sec like original

Hp at 61-80%
-firebolt is launched 5 times on 5 random targets instead of single target firebolt
-firebolt recharge time: 15 sec
-frost diver recharge time: 7 sec
-jupitel thunder recharge time: 20 sec (identical to original)
-stone curse recharge time: 5 sec (20% chance of using instead of 100%)


3) Are Satan Morroc incarnations kept the same?

-Yes, they are as close to official as possible in terms of their stats and skills

4) Are the 2 allegiances' 26 floors fair though if it's a competition against the other allegiance?

All the normal monsters are roughly of the same power. The 3 noble mvps though, their power will depend on the nobles' choice, and the number of gold bullions they donated for their character. So there may be imbalance because of noble mvp if say, one allegiance's nobles donated significantly more than the other side.

The nobles are notified of their influence over the mvp awhile ago already and are fully aware of it (they just didn't know what's the mvp used for until now.)

So after months of no contact or even a whisper from the higher ups of the Light. We finally get word from mi-lady and she has found a unknown sorceress of great power who shares similar interests with us? I apologize if i am slightly suspect of the true intentions of this spellcaster. A lot of us have earned our place in the order with blood and battle in the name of our goddess. Yet we have not seen this unknown caster on the field of battle or even in the lands of the civilians. Trusting her with such important tasks does not sit well with me, I do not trust her at all. Still it is not my place to question mi-lady's or our Goddess's orders.

Light once again shall with haste rally to your side, with sword, bow and staff. We will fight, follow your commands and even if it would cost us our lives we will prevail against those who are our enemies. We will do what we must to protect what we believe in.

A glint of light flashes over those assembled for a very brief moment; the large bald middle-aged man near the back has lowered his head, shining a reflective light throughout the audience unintentionally. His expression is morose and contemplative. After a moment, a word leaves the mouth of Antorensiel Slate.

"Folly."

He looks up to meet the congregation's gaze.

"You say the Dark Alliance is right now recovering from a power struggle. They are at a clear vulnerable point, and this is most certainly the window of opportunity we need. What you've gotten wrong is what we should be doing with it.

This sort of inner turmoil affects their fighting power, to be sure. But more importantly, after witnessing their leaders conflict on such a scale, I'm sure more than a few of our 'enemies' are beginning to question whether their lot is the right one. This is our chance to help them atone for their sins, and to atone for our own. Never before have we been given such a promising chance to end this wretched opposition once and for all. If we put in the proper effort, we could dissolve the Allegiances, band together to defeat Satan Morroc, and erase our conflicts for a long-overdue age of peace."

He pauses, seemingly having just noticed that he has drifted into a full-blown speech. He clears his throat and continues in an equally melancholy, but much more quiet tone.

"As always, simply advice from a friend. I'll be grateful to all who consider it. I'll have no part of any invasions on the Dark Alliance, but I'll think no less of those who feel it is a necessity. When the time comes for us to battle Satan Morroc, I will of course lend my total support to the welfare of our people. All of them." Looking borderline embarrassed, he offers a quick, solemn parting nod and crumbles a butterfly wing.

Too much idealism in this speech Miss Thea...but perhaps it is needed to stir many who are not often to jump to action. I have personal reasons to want to come to seal back Satan Morroc, and make sure his type of tyranny is not allowed in our lands. I hope others will feel similar and join in the battle.

I hope we finally get a true strike at those of the dark side, hopefully those of us on this side do not disappoint me and show that the leadership of this side is no different but simply using kinder terms to describe it all. I would hate to fall into the same trap that I was slung under over 5 years ago.

I believe I speak harshly, but I am willing to give those in power of the light side a chance to actually show meaning with their words and provide it with action that is true.
