Spur of the Moment?

There were whispers.

There were rumors.

Words that had no flow mingled with the music filled the air of the square in the large capital city as people gathered, watching with captivated gazes. It wasn't often that there was entertainment in the city, let alone entertainment that wasn't dragged off to the dungeons for being drunk or shouting of conspiracies against the high King himself.

No, this was a different entertainment that twirled in a flurry of soft clothing and a twinkling of dark eyes. It was a woman, dressed in dark garments that hugged at her torso, arms and her hips, and flowing, almost see through -the horror!- pants that traced her legs down to the sandals protecting the bottom of her feet. And moving with the large, seemingly flag-like arm garments was a mass of teal colored hair that flowed around her body like a veil, framing her face and her crimson eyes.

This woman was a startling strange beauty as she twirled in time to the beat of the tambourine she held in hand. The audience watching her had never seen anyone like her, and wondered what far off land she came from to be dressed in such a fashion, and come around here in normal society teal hair and crimson eyes.

Perhaps she was a monster from the outside that had managed to sneak in - maybe related to the fabled Succubus Knights boasted of killing?

The song came to conclusion at last, with clapping from the onlookers and the twinkling of zeny flying to a green beret she had been apparently dancing around in the first place. She bowed, winking and flashing a smile while she posed, allowing everyone a chance to give their appreciation in the form of shiny coins.

... Snap o.o

Very nice. I don't usually frequent this forum, but this is a very nice piece of work. Keep writing Icon_biggrin

Just curious though, why are some parts in italics?

Søren Kierkegaard Wrote:And when the hourglass has run out, the hourglass of temporality, when the noise of secular life has grown silent and its restlessness or ineffectual activism has come to an end, when everything around you is still, as it is in eternity, then eternity asks you and every individual in these millions and millions about only one thing: whether you have lived in despair or not.

RE: Spur of the Moment?

Thanks! :D
I just got a spurt of inspiration and the italics, since I was writing this from more of a...'realistic' point of view rather than the Ragnarok point of view, I was putting emphasis on what was making her strange/different. c:

RE: Spur of the Moment?

The crowd dispersed to go about their daily routine, some sneaking glances over their shoulders to have just one last look at the woman before they rounded a corner.

The woman sighed and had a seat on the ground, leaning back to rest against the fountain's side. Beads of water that splashed up dotted her hair like rhinestones, reflecting the light of the sun as she sat there, legs outstretched while she rested.

A few moments passed like the clouds overhead before she sat up, pulling the beret on the ground to her. People had tossed the zeny contributions into it, so she started counting, albeit slow. Every piece counted and she wanted to make sure her calculation was correct.

Eh, 250z wasn't too terrible. The woman wondered if there was an inn nearby that wasn't falling to pieces that would accept the amount for one night. She'd have to try harder tomorrow to rake in a better profit.
