heRO Stability and Hosting Update

Since mid March, heRO has been suffering from some major stability issues. The complications began when we started having problems with our original host which caused heRO to experience a week of continuous downtime. This led us to the decision to end our contract with them and move the server to Admin Pandora’s house in the meantime. Since that change was made we have suffered an average of 1 server outage every week. Players are also suffering periodic lag spikes that were previously absent when heRO was on a dedicated host.

The past few months have been an exercise in patience and understanding as we have all been adapting to the unexpected change. Although we attempted to compensate for this period of instability by providing increased rates or 6/6/4 along with some free goods, it is clear that our previous reliable server is sorely lacking. The current instability of the heRO server does not live up to our old reputation of nearly no downtime for the past 15 years. Clearly, the current setup is not working.

Admin Pandora and GM-Pereca have secured a new hosting service so that heRO can return to having a dedicated host again. Pandora's interaction with our new services have been quite positive and there has already been a vast improvement in customer service compared to our previous host. We hope that with the move back to a dedicated service, we can solve the majority of the performance/lag issues, along with the periodic downtime.

Moving to our new host will be our new priority in order to restore stability to heRO. While we're working and preparing to move hosts again, we ask for players to be patient with the ongoing outages and lack of major content. Testing and development will be delayed as a result. A major PvP related update scheduled for early July will be pushed to August, while the PvM update for the next dungeon/Gunslinger change will be pushed to late August/early September instead. However, smaller updates such as item tweaks, bug fixes, quality of life improvements and expanding existing systems (such as costume crafters) will continue to take place as normal.

Once again, we sincerely apologize for the server issues lately, and we hope that the change in host will provide everyone with a better experience with heRO in the near future~
