OMG Crash-Tastic!

Crash-tastic is not the kind of tastic I want to be :o

So I updated with the Valentine's patch, and now my client keeps weirdly crashing every so often in Prontera (I think Panda troubleshot this before for someone else and indicated that it was due to a custom hat and the person's client not being updated correctly.)

I have the HeRO full install and I patch regularly like a good girl. Should I just redownload the full installer and reinstall, or is there something else that might be able to help me? >_>

Ahh, I've been having a similar problem. Except, mine crashed the other day, and I can't patch it due to some silly error. But now I'm downloading the full installer + BGM (for the first time, I might add, since before I only used the lite installer or something) in hopes that it will let me patch in the future and stop crashing.

I was trying to download it yesterday, but it was decided for me that my friend would come over and stay until almost midnight. @_@ After he left, I tried to get the download to finish, but my computer froze up every time. So now, I'm downloading it again. Since I'm going out in a bit, if my computer chooses to freeze up again, I'll have something better to do other than stalking the forums. Let's cross our fingers and hope it won't come to that, though~

Anyway, I'm not really sure what you should do, since I'm no tech expert or anything. I, personally, might recommend trying to download the full installer, as well. Maybe it will yield favourable results- for the both of us. :)

Your patch might have missed one, what number is there in the file named neoncube.file directly in your RO folder?

It should be 118. You might want to try lowering it to 116 and repatching.

Remember to close your client before doing modifications.

I thought it had stopped crashing, but then I tried to go back to Prontera and crash city, every time >_> I went ahead and downloaded the full installer, uninstalled, reinstalled, patched up and still crash every time in Prontera. I've been hunting balloons in Alberta with no problem, so I really have no idea what's going on >_>;

I run Windows XP (professional, I think?) I've got plenty of ram and Duriel always troubleshoots any computer problems I have (although I am also an experienced computer user <3). I play with an Intuos3 Tablet, and this has also never given me any trouble. I haven't done anything to my install recently, and it only just started being crash happy the day that I posted my distress call. Before that it has been extremely stable and not crashed at all.

I am not sure what to do :o I cannot just avoid Prontera indefinitely XD. Fortunately Duriel's install hasn't been giving him any trouble like this, so I should be able to do the V-Day quest on his laptop.

Correction, still crashing like a mad dog. I'll try Circe's suggestion next.
