It was super cute, but I thought it was a bit disappointing. This is coming from a Studio Ghibli lover btw.

Animation was good, but there were some parts where the drawings were a bit sloppy. Maybe that's the style they were aiming for?

It was an okay movie overall, but the cuteness makes up for it <3

Don't get me wrong. I absolutely LOVE Studio Ghibli. I grew up watching My Neighbour Totoro Every. Single. Day. before school (I'd finish what I wasn't able to afterwards). I've learned so many of their songs on piano/sax/etc.

I was just disappointed. Their stories were usually really engaging and cathartic. This one was just... Meh. I agree on the sloppiness-- but god, Ponyo on Blu-Ray looked sooooo pretty at times. I was saddened at the lack of special content though.
