The Help Whispers Quit Smoking thread! =D

Before I went to Job Corps I had successfully quit smoking for a few months.??Then a friend kept asking me to go outside with him while he smoked.??He'd occasionally offer me a drag which I would refuse at first but then gave in because it was a menthol.??After a few weeks I was smoking half cigarettes.??Now I'm back to smoking whole cigarettes again and I hate it, but it's hard as hell to quit.

So, you guys are gonna help me!??(I hope)

Words of encouragement, empty threat, bribes, w/e are all welcomed with glee!??Empty threats can be the most random thing that you can think of that will you would/could never actually affect.??For example:

• Aki says she'd never date a guy who smoked.
  For all I know Aki is a 30-year-old guy in Spain.??I'm sure she has no intention to date me anyway, nor I her (for all I know she's married, too, with, like, three kids - it's just fun to dream =D).
  (Neither will Circe. But she really actually is a 30 year old guy in Spain.)
• Every time you smoke a cigarette a kitten dies!
  Of course this isn't true.??Well, at least a kitten doesn't die because
  I smoked a cigarette.
• Smoke another cigarette and I'll find you.??And, you don't want me to find you.??
  Ha.
• My doggy said that God hates people who smoke cigarettes.

As such, though, the empty threat can be realized by me and help me quit smoking that much more.??

If all you have to say is something negative or pointless then gtfo of my thread.??Trolls should be so glad I am not a GM right now.??=D

My father was hospitalized for 2 months due to issues with his breathing as a result of the smoking he'd done in his lifetime. He now has to take medication for the rest of his life, and has a breathing apparatus for when he sleeps to ensure his heart doesn't stop.

He also calculated it and figured out he'd spent over ?200,000 on cigarettes.

200k. Quite a lot a of money for a habit. I hear its hard, so I'm not even going to start smoking. (Not like I don't get second hand smoke from my dad, but eh.)

My birthday is in August!??=D

Anywho - What always helped me quit smoking before was equating smoking with a heaviness in my lung, short breath, lethargy and coughing up the black that will become my lung if it already hasn't due to smoking.

However, those images aren't as default as they were before.??I used to conjure these images instantaneously as if they and the thought of smoking were one.

I remember a time when I was addicted to something in relation to the smoking.

At that very moment I find a way to break it when I actually have something to do such as walking it off or even try new things that helps mentoring the stresses against smoking.

Its really hard I know, but just give it a 110% to do everything in your power to combat it with all that you have. =]

i will hate you if you don't stop smoking (that treat is the worst i could think of XD)

i've smoked for 4 years myself and well quit because cigarettes here where getting insanely expensive here @_@ (though i didn't smoked cigs but something else most of you probally don't know in country's outside of Holland... i think... no not weed T_T nufbfobh ~_~ but shag, in most of the foreign counties i went to on holiday they didn;t know what it was...)

oke anyways... i just well stopped from one day on another... never touched a cig from the day i decided to quit.. don't ask me how i did it.. i still don't know @_@ but i hope you will stop and else!! just think about my treat!
