Dark Breath vs Darkness Breath

RO Mechanic Explanation Time!


There's 2 super similar attacks, both basically negated by bathory but their effects are entirely different if bathory is absent.


Darkness Breath: similar to all elemental breaths, and deal (100% * level) damage. It counts as melee attacks within 3 cell range, blocked by SW. It counts as range attacks outside of the 4 cell range. Pneuma blocks it in this range. Defender works on it in this range.

Its interaction with Reflect Shield is not known (will need a GM to breath a Paladin to find out.)


Dark Breath: dark attack that cuts off target max hp by 10% per level. This is the annoying attack that Clock uses and the damage display is often 9999, even though that's not the damage it dealt. This attack ignores armor and flee, but it is dark elemental.


This does mean that Nidhoggur's Shadow in its Initial Form knows an AoE Death Spell, unless you have the right armor for it. It's not the shadow elemental form for nothing~
