RE: Bathory Armor?

Aside from the previously mentioned can't be healed difference there's another diff between bathory and ED. Undead (ED) can't freeze. Holy and fire attacks will rape you with ED though.

I strongly suggest putting a bathory card in a glittering jacket. A lot of people favor Odin's for the combos but glit will always trump it because of the mdef. Being restricted to set gears sucks anyway.

Evil Druid is nice for soloing tho, because Dark prop attacks will heal you instead of damaging like dark soul strike and Darkness Jupital, and will block most of the same stuff Bathory does, with an added bonus of Being immune to freeze and stone curse. But you can't be healed or Ressed while wearing Evil Druid.

Holy will hurt both Bathory and Evil Druid, and some skills (like Magnus excorcismus, or Turn Undead) will hit and hurt you while wearing ED (if used in PVP or by monsters), and there's the fire weakness.

That's not true anymore (at least for dark soul strike).

It's just for flexibility's sake that if you are aiming for pure def, odin's combo is still pretty hard to beat for the peco riders. Most mvps that require the LK tank usually don't use magic beyond dark, so you're quite alright. The only exception is just SM. Plus in those scenario... the melee hurts so much more than the magic that the mdef lost really pales compare to def loss. Lending is also great too in case if the designated peco rider does not have it.

Stone buckler isn't bad with 5% large resist which is most mvp, and in most cases, one single monster don't use a wide enough variety of elements to really consider valk shield instead. Thus the only lost is the magni cap vs other gears, which isn't a bad trade off for using a set gear.
