Bail for jailed characters?

I would like to suggest that jailed characters should be able to have the option for a bail.

Maybe 500k to 1.2m depending on the severity of the offense.
A banker NPC should also be present next to the "Warden".

IMHO, 12 Hours is a bit severe punishment for casual players without alternate merchant accounts who can only play around 5 hours a week.

It's basically just a warp NPC.

Thank you and sorry if this has been brought up before.

Disagree, you read the rules and are required to know them while playing. Hence since you know them, you are required to abide by them. Hence the punishments. You break the vending rules you should be prepared to accept the punishment for it.

EDIT: I'll agree to a 20mil bail. That I get.

I understand your point.

The fine should be painful enough to the player so that he/she will recognize it as punishment.

Don't know about 20mil, but I'm not looking at any particular price here.

5m, maybe but not sure if people can pay more than 7m.

The price has to be reasonable and at the same time painful.

I was originally thinking around 100-200k per hour remaining but that could be hard to code?

RE: Bail for jailed characters?

The point is that you're supposed to be in jail to "sit and think" about what you did wrong. Bail costs would eliminate that. Now, what price do you think the GMs must make you pay such that you will not have to sit through it?

With that in mind, I really don't think it should be as low as 7m, which is your high point, Ruon. If anything, this price should be set such that it's high enough for you to say, "aw shit, i'm never breaking this rule again." At 5m? No chance. Try 50m, then you /might/ think twice.

IGNs:

Heii - 99/70 Sniper
Limits - 99/50 Knight
Asira - 9x/6x High Priest
Ruins - 99/70 Whitesmith
Meteor - 99/70 Champion
Toy. - 99/6x Assassin Cross

RE: Bail for jailed characters?

I see the time sentencing of jail to be exactly what it's meant for.
Yes, it sucks.
Yes, it's meant to suck.
Yes, the GM's know that it really sucks for casual players.
All things considering, I think your complaint about getting jailed and trying to find an easier way out, should just support the current system in the way that it is. The current set up is a horrible punishment no matter who you are, and I think that if you're going to try to get out quick, that it needs to be worse than sitting there for 12 hours, not something easier. The jailtime is the minimum punishment, anything that we add to it for other ways out, needs to be worse than the jailtime. I agree 20, 50, or even more mil zenny I'd be okay with, because that's worse than standing there for 12 hours.

RE: Bail for jailed characters?

If they put up a bail option bloody would probably try to do sh*t to get jailed just because he has so much zeny he can get bail every-time..... so do your time so bloody doesn't become more of a jerk to players.
