Random Short Freezes

I was wondering if anyone have any tips for my problem, which is: That my game sometimes freezes for several second (5-15) sometimes when monsters or players enters my screen or uses skills. It's not gamebreaking but it's annoying, and have caused a few deaths. Currently downloading the installer again to make a fresh install.

If anyone has a solution they are welcome to share it =)

Hmm, but I didn't have this problems 2 years ago, with a PC with lower specs than my current one. Nor have I had this problem when I've played on official servers. Guess I'll wait and see if a fresh install fixes it.

Actually that sounds like there's some problem with your client getting sprites from the Hard drive. Maybe you've been running anything that eats up hard disk response time? Like I sometimes have that when I'm running some torrent download and it gives me a nice speed :D This might include running installers, checking hard drive for something (like viruses via antivir), saving big files to it, saving a big bunch of small files, installations, etc. etc.

P.S. I just can't not say this: stop downloading porn.

P.P.S. If everything else fails try moving the directory in which your client rests, like to root of hard disk or other hard disk :D

Why download porn if the internet gives it for free?

Anyway, I seem to have a similar problem at times, but I always figured it was simply lag. It happens on the official iRO for me as well.

I actually have this problem, like the whole screen freezes thing. I can tell it's not just because of lag, and that it's completely different. I don't know how to explain it better than 'it freezes' though!

I have heRO on a USB, and just play from there (since I don't use my laptop, 'cause it broke and being repaired; and I never had a problem with it, too.) so I'm now wondering if it's because of that. Oh well x_x

You can try playing with the commands "/mineffect" and "/aura" on, they should slightly help you about hardware lag. I personally play with both on, plus "/fog" off. Closing unnecessary programs/processes and keeping your HD not too full also helps, like Ptah already told you.

Now if your heRO window doesn't literally stop responding (like when your mouse pointer freezes and stuff) but you just can't move, it's most likely a connection issue. This can be bettered sometimes disabling the "Nagle Algorithm", but it's not something guaranteed.

Reinstalling it to a different directory seems to have solved the problem. No idea if it was simply the reinstall or the new directory that fixed it tho. Thanks for the help =)
