Force-Attuned Krogoth Wrote:One thing bothers me about that final stage. As a general rule, solo parts are higher pitch than most of the others, because it carries better. If you're someone without the large range of a professional singer, especially a lower range like baritone or alto, it's hard to find anything to properly sing. I personally don't know of any pop music in my range.

i'm sure you can figure out a way to adjust the pitch with the program.

I come up on trouble with that, too. High notes are the death of me.

I might (read: somebody might make me Icon_razz ) enter. Maybe. If my perfectionism doesn't make me want to stab my eyes out. Or rip out my vocal cords. Or both.

I can't carry a tune in a bucket. Icon_cry

That's my problem, too. I've got a piece picked out, but I'm a perfectionist. My voice is nowhere near as reliable as my cello, so it all sounds horrible to me. Plus I don't have anyone to kick me and tell me to do it anyway.

But I shall keep the Bach warmed up for the next contest. Icon_biggrin

Walsung is actually pretty cool. For a guy made of metal.

No no no. If I have to do it, you have to do it too. So I'll be the person kicking you. Icon_razz

I can't be the only tortured perfectionist, dammit. Icon_lol My violin and flute used to always be better than my voice but I am years out of practice. I've always wanted to play the cello, though. When I took Orchestra in school they told me I was too short to play the cello, wth. >_> So I had to play, actually, a 1/4 size violin.

I'm still too short. Icon_cry

I will be recording my entry whenever the house is empty enough that I can sing without my sister coming in and making rude comments.

Fine, FINE. I'm drunk anyway, so here I go with les Miserables' "Stars" details to follow.

[edit] And I am officially challenging you to the upcoming instrumental competition. Pick any movement of any of the six Bach cello suites, and I'll do it. (The only one I've worked on is the Allemande from the third suite. Probably not fair if I use that.)
