Try launching setup.exe and post a screenshot of your settings please.

I have had this error on another server before... What I had to do to fix it was to change the <version> and <langtype> in the sclient. Maybe he should try langtype 1? I hope that helps a bit.

sounds like a setup.exe settings error try changeing from full screen to window mode. i seem to remember haveing an error where something would popup and go away fast a long while back and that fixed me right up.
