Adobe has betrayed me!!

Yeah... apparently a weird thing is happening whenever I open Adobe Photoshop. It eats up a giant part of my memory space even though I restarted the computer or closed the software. Any ideas you guys have other than these methods I already did to clear it up?

1) manually deleted temp files and folder
2) used a software to clean the cache
3) disk defragment
4) disk cleanup
5) disenabling Clipboard function
6) changing scratch disk storage
7) Optimizing performance through performance

The only bright side to this incident is that I got a new scene for my story in God Circuits about a field that is hidden in shadow memory of the parallel world. But still... this does slow down my work in school. D:

Ew... GIMP is pretty terrible for serious illustrators. There are so many better options than GIMP for illustration...and many others that are cheap or free even.

Story Dude, just use Manga Studio and then do edits in PS at the end.
Your other option is to uninstall and reinstall the software.

Edit: The hubby said to make another login on your computer. Launch Photoshop. If it lags, it's because of the application data or registry for your username. If you do this, write a post or PM me saying what happens and he'll help you further from there. xD

I just learned from my programmer friend that apparently there is a 'trash' folder hidden in the drive. Gonna attempt his method later tonight if it works. @_@

RE: Adobe has betrayed me!!

Wow... I found a treasure trove of storage space that was wasted through old backups @_@;

EDIT: apparently the old backups amounted up to 400gigs of my terabyte which is HUMONGOUS!

EDIT2: I guess it wasn't Adobe who did the last K.O. shot in my storage space but the so called 'backup' of Windows

Why terrible? Gimp has almost all the tools and features that Photoshop has. I use it mostly for web design stuff but know "serious illustrators" who use it.

You shouldn't call something terrible if you don't know it well.

Who says I don't know much about it?
I've used it, and it's not very intuitive for illustration...or well much of anything else that I tried to create in it.

That's great you know some illustrators who use it, but they are pretty miniscule in number for a reason.
