Suggestion for SN BG accessory

Since SN's don't have a special BG accessory, I thought why not suggest one.

Medal of Squishy
Combo with Black Scarf
Atk+3%, Matk +3%
HP +300, SP +50
ASPD +5%
Add 1% chance of auto cast "confusion" on the enemy when attacking.

Please comment what you think of it, and if the GM's should implant it or not.

RE: Suggestion for SN BG accessory

Personally, I'd rather see it combo with a gear that can be naturally equipped by novices, instead of only by a link. Only real complaint about it, though.

RE: Suggestion for SN BG accessory

I just realised now that it might not be a good idea to combo it. Since that probably wont work for the second accessory then.

RE: Suggestion for SN BG accessory

I don't see a problem making the accessory as it is and not worry about comboing it with anything.

Could lower ASPD% gain to 3%, HP Gain to 150, and SP Gain to 25 so it doesn't get too out of hand with those bonuses.

RE: Suggestion for SN BG accessory

First of all - Thanks for the great idea, Cait! I would definitely be interested in seeing the BG gear options for SuperNovice rounded out.

My primary suggestion: Instead of just ASPD +5%, perhaps it might also* include Cast speed -5%, or a relatively equivalent reduction in Aftercast Delay.

*These would probably need to be in an either/or configuration. Either Int/Dex/Luk (?) > 90 = Cast speed and Agi/Str/Vit > 90 = ASPD -- OR Could always just make two versions, Medal of Squishy Smarts and Medal of Squishy Stabs.

Some existing SN gear has either/or options, I believe - I just can't recall the item I'm remembering at the moment.

Also - I personally don't find the HP/SP gain to be excessive. Given that SNs have very little to begin with, I feel like it barely makes a dent. While it is true that some gear SNs can wear has *only* HP/SP or stat/effect type boosts, I think it is pretty on par with other BG gear to have multiple nice bonuses on the piece.

I suppose it also depends on how expensive we are comfortable with the item being!

RE: Suggestion for SN BG accessory

So the suggestions make it:

Medal of Squishy
Atk+5%, Matk +5%
HP +200, SP +30
ASPD +5% and Reduce Cast time by 5%
Add 1% chance of auto cast "confusion" on the enemy when attacking.

RE: Suggestion for SN BG accessory

I guess we did forget super novice when we made custom bg gear, we'll see if we can remedy that.
