If you want foreign rock that rocks go to the Netherlands. No1
Dir En Grey played at Ozzfest, so in terms of facades, I'd say that they really aren't fronting anything they don't have.

As for most other J-Rock bands, and even Dir En Grey a handful of years ago, I'd have to agree.

And by Nordic bands, are you referring to Within Temptation, and Nightwish, and such?

RE: J-Rock

I listen Dir En Grey but I'm not such a big J-rock fan. Yokan, Amber and Embryo (single version) are songs which I luv from DEG.

I've also listened to Gazette and An Caf? and they have few nice songs Icon_smile

RE: J-Rock

I'm not even sure where to start with listing what J-rock bands I love. o_o; I listen to J-rock almost exclusively. Though this isn't NEARLY all the bands I listen to, I'll list a few, in no particular order.

Dir en grey
D
Versailles
Lareine
The GazettE
alice nine.
X JAPAN
L'arc~en~Ciel
Gackt
Miyavi
RENTRER EN SOI
Kagerou
girugamesh
MUCC
D'espairsRay
the Underneath
SuG
AnCafe
Vidoll
Phantasmagoria
PIERROT
Malice Mizer
Schwarz Stein
Psycho le C?mu

There's a LOT of bands I listen to and love that aren't on that list, too. On most of the RO servers I've played on I've made a guild dedicated to J-rock, though usually it hasn't gotten many members because I haven't done much to promote it.

RE: J-Rock

Not a very big fan of J-Rock or Pop, to be honest. Nothing against it, personally, but in general the genre doesn't do it for me. However, I do like some of it. A little here and there.

Miyavi -- His regular stuff is okay, but get that boy with an acoustic guitar and you've got magic. Click the link.

Srsly.

Also, I kinda sorta like Janne Da Arc, even if it's for a really odd reason.
