Can't attack dead branch'd Warzone enemy?

This neat Warzone guy popped out of a dead branch today.



Sadly, when I tried to target and attack him, nothing happened. He could only be damaged by Ruwatch when he hid. But every time I click on him, nothing happens.

Why??

In order to hit any player-esque monsters that are custom, such as that, you have to hold Shift to be able to attack/damage it.
