pandy, in terms of copied art, it means that he saw a piece he liked and simply copy it. its not by tracing, copy paste or the like, it is by pure memory or by sight. while it is not looked down upon by anyone unless it is an actual trace or digital copied art (copy & paste) as it is not an exact replica and it does take a lot of skill to be able to copy an artwork really well (even to the point where they almost look like a trace), a copied artwork cannot be said to have been created by the one who draws it as they didn't come up with the concept.

i do some copy works for friends from time to time, but i don't do 1:1 scale copies. as 1:1 scale copies really look like a trace.

there was one drawing i did that i posted here a while back that was a copy art. it was from a pic someone asked me to enlarge from a card game.

and yes i would like to know whether it is alright to do copy drawings.

If Namine is not mistaken, it is Ms. Poeticwing's drawing based on an existing gravity released picture... Don't remember what picture it is, but it was the loading screen for her previous server so ;

No one was saying the pic was bad. It's just that I believe for this contest in order to qualify as "artwork" category, it must be 100% original. Even from reference, this one was very well done though.
