New World Retouches and Updates

Throughout the week we'll be updating New World to rebalance some of the monsters, stats, skills, and drop wise. The intent is to make it less of a burden for solo players, while still keeping it challenging, and equally fun for parties.



Part 1 - Splendide Fields



Pinguicula
-No Skill or Stat Changes.

Pingu Corsage [1] 0.21 -> 0.30%
Whip of Balance 0.21 -> 0.36%



Luciola Vespa
- Uses body relocation/snap when hit by fire wall or arrow repel, instead of doing it unconditionally.

Ancient Cape 0.30 -> Ancient Cape [1] 0.45%
Sprint Ring 0.15 -> Sprint Ring 0.21%



Naga
-No Skill or Stat Changes.

Battle Fork [4] 0.30 -> 0.45%
Naga Armor 0.30 -> 0.45%
Naga Shield [1] 0.30 -> 0.45%

The monster is of a decent difficulty already and requires no change, but its gear drop rates have been increased since they are for the most part, outdated or have not aged well.



Dark Pinguicula
- No longer spawns Nepenthes upon dying.
- No longer uses magic mirror.
- Edit (August 8): No longer uses change undead.

Exorcising Ring 0.21% (New Drop)
Moonlight Ring 0.36% -> 0.45%

60 Mdef is enough of a magic deterrent already, so magic mirror was removed. The nepenthes spawn is similar to Amon Ra's, in which the summoned mob doesn't die with its summoner, so this skill was removed to avoid crowding the maps too much as it had happened in years past.



Cornus
- No longer casts Full Heal (the skill that returns the mob to full HP)
- No longer uses wind walk
- Heal Lv 11 (The 9999 Heal) has been lowered to Heal Lv 10
- Assumptio Cast Rate has been lowered from 100% to 25%
- Assumptio cast time has been increased from 0.60s
- Assumptio is now interruptable

Sprint Mail 0.27 -> 0.36%
Long Horn [1] 0.09 -> 0.30%
Exorcising RIng 0.03 -> Removed (Given to Dark Pinguicula)
Angelic Ring 0.15 -> 0.30%

Drastically lowered all its defensive skills which made it nearly unkillable if not for strong burst damages like asura strike.



Hillsrion
- No longer uses power up.
- No longer uses body relocation.
- Sonic Blow and Wind Attack has been lowered from Lv 4 to Lv 2.
- Critical Attack and Joint Beat cooldown have been increased from 3s to 5s.
- Multi-Stage Attack has been increased from 15% to 20%.

Mink Coat 0.36 -> 0.60%

Should no longer pose such a world-ending threat to adventurers, while also reinforcing its status as a decent exp mob.



Hillsrion (MVP Summon)
- No longer uses venom dust or power up.

Lowered difficulty slightly so that once the party has managed to set up formation properly, the battle flows better.



Tendrilrion
- Movement Speed lowered from 80 to 100 (Same as peco rider with agi up)
- No longer uses power up.

Eraser 12% ->15%
Death Guidance 12% -> 15%
Ring of Wind 15% -> 24%

Speed has been lowered to make the sprite move more fluidly and less jarring than its previous version, while power up's removal can allow room for other strategies such as paladin tanking.

Part 2 - Manuk Fields



Nepenthes
- Uses energy drain at a 5% rate with a 5s cooldown instead of 100%/20% rate idle/attack respectively.

Mandragora Cap 0.09 -> 0.24%
Harp of Nepenthes 0.15 -> 0.30%
Bow of Nepenthes 0.15 -> 0.30%
Stem of Nepenthes 0.15 -> 0.30%

Increased drop rate of items because they are for the most part outdated or power-crept. With the removal of energy drain, bathory armor isn't as much of a must-have gear now to battle these.



Centipede
- No longer uses stop.
- No longer uses Gambantein.
- Now only cloaks when chasing instead of idle and chase, at 10% instead of 25%.
- Removed one of two usages of venom dust. The remaining skill is changed from 0s cast time to 0.5s, interruptable.
- Standardized quagmire from three different usages at 0 and .7s cast time on attack or chase at 10% and 20%, to always 0.7s cast time when attacking or chasing at 10% rate.

Cursed Lyre 0.30 -> 0.45%
Cold Heart 0.30 -> 0.36%

Removed unconditional cloak is so players can at least see it coming and prepare for it, instead of being ninja'd out of the blue. Removed Gambantein as it was never intended to have gambantein. It is likely a mistake when porting the official mob between databases. This should greatly reduce PVM frustrations with the Manuk and Dicastes regions.



Centipede Larva
- No longer uses stop.
- Venom dust is now casted on attack at 5% rate, with 0.5s cast time and 15s cooldown.
- Uses poison attribute attack at Lv 2 instead of Lv 10.

No Drop Changes were made.

Changed to be of a difficulty proportional to the area it spawns on (manuk field 01). Standardized venom dust to select a happy medium as there were 3 identical skill usage entries using it on attack at similar conditions but with different rates and cooldowns. Previously it used the skill on attack, or idle, at 5%, 20% or 100% rate with 0s, or 1.5s. This was unnecessary as it would theoretically just use the skill at the highest rate.



Bradium Golem
- No longer uses rebirth.

Strong Shield 0.15 -> 0.30%

Mostly minor changes to relieve annoyances with the mob coming back to haunt players.



Tatacho
- Uses decrease agility instead of eswoo.

Mink Coat 0.36 -> 0.60%
Cello [3] 0.30 -> 0.36%

Swapped eswoo for decrease agility to eliminate the "issue" of the miniature sprite effect remaining after the eswoo effect has gone out.



Tatacho (Hardrock Mammoth Summon)
- Removed eswoo (already has decrease agility).



Hardrock Mammoth
- Now uses Heaven's Drive Lv 5 instead of Lv 10.

Bone Head 24% -> 30%
Tournament Shield 18% -> 24%

Reduced Heaven's Drive to avoid stun lock.

Part 3 - Scaraba Hole



Scaraba Queen
HP: 2,441,600 -> 1,441,600
Level: 85 -> 75
Base Exp: 3,662,400 -> 2,162,400 (Remains at HP*1.5 Exp)
Job Exp: 3,052,000 -> 1,802,000 (Remains at HP*1.25 Exp)
AGI: 80 -> 40

- No longer uses Autoguard when hit by bowling bash.
- Casts Heaven's Drive on a random target, instead of on the the player it is attacking/chasing.
- Lower Brandish Spear chance from 20% to 10%.
- Lower the level of Power Up from 5 to 1, and delay to 1 minute instead of 2.


Item drop rates remain the same.


Lowered the overall HP and stats to make the battle less drawn out and disproportionate to the loot the MVP drops, while reducing level and agi, lowering hit by 10 and flee by 40. The lowering of power up makes the duration of its tripled attack/hit last from 30 seconds to 10 seconds, and the removal of autoguard on Bowling Bash, LKs may be able to defeat it faster. Heaven's Drive was changed to target random players nearby so that the queen does not solely focus on a single target throughout the battle. Overall, there is better survivability now when fighting this boss monster.

Part 4 - Yggdrasil Root & Yggdrasil Root

Dark Pinguicula (Additional to Part 2)
- No longer uses Change undead

Attempting to remove the need for shadow armor due to an overabundance of "dark" elemental dungeons in RO.




Ancient Tree
- No longer casts Eswoo
- Uses decrease agility Lv 1 at 5% rate with a 1s cast time and 10s delay.

Items and drop rates remain the same.

Removed the eswoo that causes sprite bugs, and replaced with decrease agility at a lower rate, to compensate for its longer duration compared to eswoo.




Rhyncho
- No Skill or Stat Change

Tidal Shoes 0.09% -> 0.36%
Bradium Brooch 0.12 -> 0.18%
Ninja Suit [0] 0.60% -> Ninja Suit [1] 0.60%

No reason for such this high end dungeon to have items at low drop rates that are obtainable elsewhere.




Phylla
- No Skill or Stat Change

Tights [1] 0.45% -> 0.60 %
Tidal Shoes 0.09% -> 0.36%
Minstrel Bow 0.30% -> 0.45%
Bradium Earring 0.09% -> 0.18%




Rata
- No Skill or Stat Change

Veteran Hammer 3% -> 9%
Combo Battle Glove 6% -> 9%




Dark Shadow
- No longer uses Change Undead (Green Zombie Skill)
- No longer uses Dark Breath
- No longer summons constants on death
- Now uses Meteor Assault Lv 9
- Now casts Wide Curse Lv 5 on death.

No longer drops bomb wick.

Meteor assault Lv 9 has 400% atk, in compensation for the reduced range compared to dark breath. Removed the position-lag-causing constant spawn and replaced it with wide curse as compensation. Removed bomb wick to avoid the common confusion as to whether a bradium accessory dropped or not.




Duneyrr
- No longer uses change undead
- No longer uses thunderstorm after casting thunderstorm
- The main thunderstorm's cast rate was increased from 15% to 30%
- Thunderstorm is now casted on a random target instead of the main target.

Veteran Axe 6% -> 12%
Veteran Sword 3% -> 6%

Removed the additional skill entry for thunderstorm due to it not being double casted properly anyway, and compensated by increasing the cast rate of the remaining thunderstorm. Casting it on random target means players now have to be on their toes when facing Duneyrr, too.




Aqua Elemental
- No longer uses Storm Gusts depending on HP
- Now casts Storm Gust Lv 5 at any HP

Waterdrop Brooch 3% -> 6%
Robe of Cast [0] 6% -> Robe of Cast [1] 12%

This should remove penalty of not using asura against her by making her damage output the same for all strategies.




Dreamstone Golem
- By next reboot, will no longer spawn in the custom extension of the dungeon.




Dreamstone Crystal
- By next reboot, will no longer spawn in the custom extension of the dungeon.




Dark Shadow (MVP Summon)
- No longer uses Break Helm
- No longer uses Break Shield
- No longer uses Assumptio on Nyddhoggur's Shadow
- Uses Crimson Fire Formation Lv 10 at 20% rate with 0.5s cast time and 10s delay, instead of Power Up.
- Uses Meteor Assault Lv 4 instead of Dark Breath

Darkness Breath was removed so that you should focus on having the element armor of Nid's form instead. Unlike regular dark shadows, Meteor Assault is of a lower level (200% damage) since you are always in range of these ones.




Niddhoggur's Shadow
- No longer uses two hand quicken
- No longer uses power up
- No longer uses waterball

Items and drop rates remain the same.


Reduced the overall difficulty pending a major future (far future) re-write of the MVP's stats and skills. Item rates are left the same since the MVP should now be easier to defeat.
