Hatter NPC

[GM-Pandora]

Mr. Hatter is a weird fellow from a far away land, he is also unique to heRO (scripted by yours truly). He's been in the hat business all his life, (perhaps it has affected his mental state) and he has perfected his art to make beautiful headwears. You can find him lurking in the garden in front of Freya's Temple (North of Rachel) enjoying the beautiful scenery.



Hat Game

If you play games with him he will randomly select one of his hats to give you. There are 5 games to play with him, once you're done with the 5th you'll receive your headgear. You can repeat the quest as many time as you'd like.

His 5 games are as follows.

* Should you happen to fail the 2nd or 5th game, you will be taken back to the previous game!



To select which headgear he will give you, he will roll 2 dice with 10 numbers on each, together they will give a number between 0 and 99, in total there are 100 possibilities!
This list is subject to change which each monthly update as new custom hat may be added to it, and some drop might be lowered to fit it all in those 100 spots. And since this quest is meant to provide hats that not available by other means, if a quest is added for any hat they will also be removed.

Hat Coloring Service

Apart from the Hat Game, the Hatter can also recolor certain special hats, he just recently started offering this service. You will need to have the hat to get it colored, as well as some items and herbs he will require. The ones that you will be colored will be as follows:

~ Wig

Note1: Those are recolor from Gravity, not made by the heRO staff, please don't ask for your favorite hat if it's not in this list, also I think Gravity are somewhat colorblind.. some of their white/grey hat are more like brown, you can see the color of each hat by clicking on the links above.

Note2: Once you color a hat, you cannot decolor it or recolor it, so make sure you select carefully ^_^

Note3: When you color a hat, your original will be taken, the colored hat will be returned to you without any upgrades or cards.


Hat Voucher

This rare item can be used to skip the hat games and directly go to the hat receiving part. (It will not affect your hat game if you have one in progress). As mentioned before this item will be very rare, distributed in very limited quantity on special occasions.

Update 2007/09/11 2nd game had a chance to require to gather 100 fluorescent liquid, I'll admit I hadn't looked at the drop rate it just looked like a cool item to ask XD I'll replace it tonight but update will only take effect when I reboot (next monday for phase 4). Those who have gotten this item I'll go change it tonight in the database so talk to the npc later to know which new item you have to gather. On a side note, you might wanna hang on to those fluorescent liquid who knows they might have a use someday *hint hint*

2007/10/01 Added Coloring services to hatter as well as 5 new hats. Mr. Hatter will also exchange an item called "Hat Voucher" for a hat, so bring it to him if you come upon one!

In about a week I'll update the Hatter NPC, he will no longer accept 2 cards (drops and firelock soldier) since those are not that comon, but he will accept 10 new cards! If you were planning on using those cards, please do so in the next week.
