RE: Childhood Toys

Sorry about the phone camera pictures.

The top one was made from duct tape, cardboard, and Popsicle sticks. I made that when it was just as tall as I was. 52" long. I eventually got a wooden boken. My friends and I would spar with this sword and the boken.

The second sword is a real sword with a real edge. I bought that when I was 12 or so. I used to string up water bottles and apples and stuff from the tree in my yard and cut them open. I also killed snowmen and various tall plants.

On the left is the most sturdy plastic sword I've ever had. My brother had one just like it until it broke. That's about when I started construction of the big sword. This is from back when plastic swords were made to take a beating. It used to have a hilt but that broke off.

On the right is one of my old nerf guns. Good times with that thing.

Not pictured are legos and cardboard boxes. Best toys ever.

It's in the tropics somewhere between the Port of Indecision and Southwest of Disorder, but no parallels of latitude or longitude mark the spot exactly. Palm trees provide the camouflage. Passports are not required. Where is Margaritaville? It's in your mind.

That's right.??Screw toys.??All a kid needs is a giant field and/or forest to wander in.??Not only is exploration funner than playing with a simple toy that does a few things, it also brings one more into tune with things.??Ok

RE: Childhood Toys

my favourite toy is my gigantic 1m doraemon plush which i always have with me. I also have lots of penguin plushies which i still have with me Icon_biggrin explains why i am penguin obsessed. oh and turtle plushies omg i used to have a collection of really cute turtle plushies.

i have this Doraemon Plush still though Icon_wink i wish i still have my big gigantic doraemon doll.

though as i grew up i ended liking swords and spears more. expecially the japanese Yari and naginata. i prefer Yari, they are more fun and stabby.

When someone calls you a lunatic and the first thing that came to mind is a cute, fluffy, white bunny, you know you've played too much RO.

Welcome to our world.

hmm While it is true that exploration is fun, It doesn't help when urban sprawl destroys your fields and takes the homes of any dangers you might have to face on your little advent. So I'll stick with Toys and technology =p

RE: Childhood Toys

I agree, I wish I had a field but we lived in an apartment away from the good stuff. So right now, the field is my toy as an adult. I go camping quite often =D
