advice?
so I open hero.exe and it opens for a second and then automatically closes

Any idea what the problem could be? ^-^;

My mum also recently cleaned out our C-drive and deleted a lot of files, maybe that could have something to do with it? I've never had this problem before she did that.

RE: advice?
Maybe you could redownload the game and the patcher, and see if that helps?

RE: advice?
your mom is evil she should never do that not knowing what shes deleteing. Try going into your RO folder and starting hero.exe from there and see if that works. She mightve just deleted the shortcut or inadverdantly deleted the path the shortcut takes to get to the exe but i kinda doubt it if it starts and than closes. Thats more like a proggie that has been installed to keep mal(i cant spell it) from running.Your best bet is to reinstall it so that the registry knows without a doubt where to look for it when you click the icon.

RE: advice?
I'd try reinstalling the whole RO folder.

RE: advice?
Reinstalling from scratch sounds like the best thing indeed. Good luck.

RE: advice?
Post of a screenshot of your RO folder, we can let you know if you need to re-install everything or not.

On a side note, deleting random stuff is obviously not recommended ^_^;;

RE: advice?
installing multiple servers to the same folder can be a very bad thing, sometimes causing too many issues but the main things you should try are the following:

make sure data.ini reads:

Code:
[Data]
0=hero.grf
1=sdata.grf
2=data.grf

or run setup and change the sound option to "No sound".

Last thing you could try is re-installing heRO.

RE: advice?
What Loki said ^_^ At first glance nothing seems to be missing, if it still doesn't work after Loki's suggestion, you can download the full hero and install it to a different folder (so you'll be sure the other server does not interfere).
