This takes into considerations a player's skill in pvp + woe + pvm. I believe skills/quick thinking and adaptation > gears. Also, every hall of fame i've seen is usually for "retired" or older players that have proven themselves to be great time and time again.

Best Knight//Lord Knight - Alexander b/c his lk skills and ro knowledge trumped everyone else's
Best Hunter//Sniper - Marivel, kinda like Neo in the Matrix
Best Priest//High Priest - Koko, tough tough opponent, one of the reasons my pally went spam BC build after Daisuke left
Best Wizard//High Wizard - Edward Elric, swayed the outcome of several woes
Best Black Smith//White Smith : Mercant, tough to fight against
Best Crusader//Paladin - Kaede, one of the fastest people to adapt in a fight (2nd place: Krimlin for being far more original than any other pally that came after us)
Best Bard//Clown - Cactuar, best supporter
Best Dancer//Gypsy - Cream, stop soloing groups of people
Best Monk//Champion - Bloody Fist, leave the rest of us some MVPs once in a while
Best Sage//Professor - Wanderer, owns pvm and pvp with npc gears
Best Alchemist//Biochemist - Hitsuguya Toushiro, 2nd vote now, 'nuff said. (This would have been lumi if "lumi" didn't get the character as base 8x trans already, other than that, great all-around skill and knowledge)
Best Taekwon - Aero, efficient killer/leveller
