RE: *RolePlaying Character Background Thread*
(OOC: Long, but hopefully accurate with heRO's story.Tell me if I was off on anything)
Bonding; sometimes it refers to the closeness between those who have affection between them, other times is can have a less than welcome type of attachment, like that between Eudoxie and Skoll in the summoning bond. However, does the presence of one make the need for the other impossible? Though if they were combined, wouldn't one make the other stronger?
Of course, this is an odd way to think for most people; Hunters would of course respect nature, but wouldn't care too much about magic, and Wizards, while magically inclined, usually don't think too much about nature. However, there are some who have reason to respect nature, from the trees and the flowers to the animals, as well as respect the forces that flow through all beings be they magical or life energies; like Alchemists. Not all of them, but there are some Alchemists that tend to plants as small as Mandragora or as mighty as Geographers; and many more Alchemists find partnership with Humonculi.
Now with all that in mind, let us now side step our focus to a young boy. On the surface this boy doesn't seem too special; he has is not of noble decent, he doesn't seem to have any special powers; both his parents are even still alive and working very seemingly dull, common jobs. The boy's father is but a mere Peco Peco breeder and trainer, and the boy's mother tended and sold flowers. At first glance these two jobs appear to be very different and unrelated, however this is untrue, they both require a common, rare to find quality; a kind and gentle heart. Both the boy's parents would always remind him of one thing: everything needs love to grow and flourish, be it plant, animal, or even humans.
Years pasted, the boy grew into a man, loved by his parents; but still he was a typical commoner; though he did not have a problem with this, for he was loved by his parents. Then came the day when he was of age to finally seek out a job. Wiser than his years, and experienced in the ways of Rune-Midgard, as well as seeing the results in the battle between the Light and Dark Alliances, the young man could see that the kingdom was slowly being overrun by the Dark Alliance, humans and monsters who only wanted power for themselves, and would eventually turn on each other if they did end up ruling Rune-Midgard; thus destroying all life, everywhere; just as the Dark Alliance's god, Erebos, wanted. As puzzling as it might be, as to why so many would worship a god who wanted them dead; the power of Greed that was released from Pandora's Box is a very strong and blinding force. It was for this reason, the young man knew he had to become a hero, to try and save humanity from its darker self and to spread to them the lessons of his parents, to love. To do this, he would have to travel... a habit very common to Merchants; and thus it came to be; the young man became a Merchant.
This young Merchant's adventures do not start here though, nor does his upbringing end; even after he had perfectly mastered the ways of his job and he was ready to advance, the deep love his parents gave him still flowed deep in his being. His father's love of beasts and his mother's love of flora grew in him as well, and it was for this reason, he chose to be an Alchemist; for their mastery of plant life through Bio Cannibalization and ability to create and summon life in the form of Homunculi; with these methods, he could nurture life wherever he went. Finally, with his path set, the young man chose an alias for himself; a name to show his status as a hero and to strike fear in his enemies; and thus he became known as Toxin.
Toxin had only just started studying the ways of Alchemy though when the plight of Eudoxie's Summoning Bond with Skoll had begun, and while he knew he was not strong enough to help the fight against her and the Dark Alliance, Toxin still studied the battles and all that he could. For there was one thing that caught his attention; the power of the forced bond of Eudoxie's spell. If Eudoxie could summon and bind a creature as strong as Skoll against its will, how strong of a creature could be bonded willingly, and through friendship? It is this, which Toxin now searches an answer for; as well as a way to repeat Eudoxie's Summoning Spell... although with a more willing companion.
