Game freezing / Crazy lag?

I have recently been experiencing very long periods of lag or my game just freezes while I am doing something. I don't think I have changed anything with my comp, and my friends say that it isn't the server because they are on now and they are fine. Any tips for me what may be causing this problem? My internet is fine I can use any browser w/o lag ex: explorer or firefox.

On the top of my head hmmm can you give us your computer specs?

How much ram?

How much free space on your hard drive?

Restart your router & your computer

turn off effects (/effect)

turn on frameskip (/skip)

Add in exclusion rule for folder within active anti virus.

Kill anything else that might be eating up bandwidth behind the scenes.

run your anti virus program, but don't wipe your RO folder when it prompts you, AVG suddenly decided to add RO to the hate list.

Run an anti-spyware program.??I reccomend Ad Aware SE Personal
