Higurashi no Naku Koro ni ( When the Cicada's Cry )

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni...such a debatable series...questionable about so many things...I love this series alot because of that though!

Yes you may say my sanity is questionable and I lack humanity, but its a good series and its different from most because it has that flare of torture, psychological thriller, and murder genre that you never really see often!

Plus the character designs are soooo cute! Rena is my favorite character~ <3

Uguu... not a fan of thrillers. I'm a boring person and prefer those anime where "nothing big really happens" ^_^; My friend did drag me to watch and her promise was to just watch one arc and I will be so hooked that I'll naturally want to watch all the rest. So I did watch the first 4 episodes (I do agree that watching just 1 episode is rather not the most accurate... I usually watch 2 episodes to judge if the rest is worth watching) which is a lot for me, and no it didn't exactly pick up my interest.

Not saying that it's bad or is it not interesting as the mystery is certainly worth pondering about, but really not my taste for these type of thing...

Yeah, it is a good series, (Possible vague spoiler highlight to read) It never has a good ending tho until the 2nd season Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai, which is a bit more in depth as to what was going on.(/end possible vague spoiler)

I think Takano Miyo was my favorite, though she didn't get much screen time. Keichi just annoys me for some reason when he's not losing it. I suppose Rika comes in at a close second favorite.

Some of the scenes are quite graphic, and even I was repulsed to watch, but over all a great anime.

I thoroughly enjoyed it, and my favorite char was Shion.

I wouldn't say it's for everyone, very heavy on the surrealism, and at times downright creepy. But doesn't everyone know a small town where you could all but see this happening?

Walsung is actually pretty cool. For a guy made of metal.

Dislike it, ever since my friend sent me a compilation video of the characters all laughing... Yeah no thanks.

The scarier part of it is that Hinamizawa is a real village in Japan that had the Dam murders take place and had somewhat of a bloody history, though the stories made with the characters in the anime are all fictional and loosely based on the happenings in the real Hinamizawa. Scary, no?

eh... i suppose. I consider things like the Holocause scary really. Things like murders are in no way good, but don't really frighten me as much as violent acts being commited and noone trying to stop it... Still hate scary movies though..

Hinamizawa was based off a real village, but Hinamizawa itself doesn't exist.

I loved this anime! The only anime that was able to make me shiver.
Good plot, clever twists, and I liked it even though I hate horror xD
