So before I start insane rant/cry posts about how yet another attempt to "explain the story" hardly simplified anything and if not made things even more complicated, did anyone even watch the movie?

i'll have to get with you on this cartoon .. i seen it before and didnt understand a few things such as why wierdly shaped alien ships called angels try thier best to crash on the planet and cause newclear style booms while kiddys in supped up robot suits were trying to stop em.

errm or am i thinking of a difrent japanease cartoon?

Lol yes thats it >.< It confuses the heck out of first time watches and takes a while to start making some sense...then ruins it all by doing something crazy again >.< but all in the most awsome of ways

heh, alien ships called angels? no..they really are angels. and the suped up suits are eva's. named after the first human, Eve. as the original angel (who is against the evas) is supposed to be Adam. it's a warped take on holy entities and such, but overall awesome. you'll get the hang of it eventually, to answer your question ayu.. i have seen the movie, and am waiting for the live action to come out. ^_^

Except those without the Red Cross Book will NEVER understand a thing about the story (well maybe we do enough to know that the Angels are not alien ships =P), and even those who do, are still scratching their heads. It's like FF7 imho. It's so complicated and beyond understanding, and we have no idea what's going on that we all just like it anyway XD;
