Failure to get patch list

Right, as the name implies, My hero patcher has decided to stop getting the patch list, and now whenever I see someone with a new headgear, my game locks up. I've already re-downloaded heRO, so any suggestions would be great.

edit: To clarify, a small error box pops up saying, Failed to get /patches/patchlist.txt.

Hopefully this is just some really stupid mistake on my part, but who knows.

Can you post a screenshot of your RO folder?

Also, the content of your RO/neoncube/neoncube.ini and RO/neoncube.file

With those we should be able to figure this out.

Usually you get it when you can't connect to the patch server. Try checking if your firewall is blocking it.



If that doesn't work, try reinstalling heRO

reinstalling hero wont fix that nor deleteing the cube file. you need a new sakray or maybe the hero full installer might work iono i never tryed that route.

A new sakray will not have any impact on his heRO patcher. If he has the latest patcher the problem is elsewhere, checking your firewall is a good idea. If that doesn't help, please provide the info I asked.

i have this exact problem, and installing full installer with the june patch, latest sakray and ro will not do anything to fix this......i've done all of this and i havent been able to patch hero for about 3 months already xD

The patcher is working for just about everyone, so something is blocking yours. Check in the area of a firewall too, also make sure no other RO server / program conflict with your install..

Sorry, work kept me from replying until now.

I double and triple checked my firewall, and added my re-downloaded hero and hero patcher to my accepted list, and now the patcher gives this message.

Failed to get /premium/2007/10/11/1502146/Patches/patchlist.txt

edit: sorry about the attachment, I never installed paint or anything like that and the cds are not within reach. If need be I'll download from online but hopefully this will work.

That "/premium/2007/10/11/1502146/Patches/patchlist.txt" is a really really old patchlist url, re-install the june patcher (available in the download section), when you install it, make sure that you specify your RO directory when asked.

Check your neoncube.ini file after that, tell me what the url says.

Aha, its working now, and I see where my mistake was after re-downloading. I downloaded the June patcher first and then the complete re-download. Had it gone the other way, the old patcher wouldn't have overwritten the new. In any case, Thanks to Pandora, and everyone else who helped out, hopefully I'll never have to ask for help again.
