Some questions!

I don't know if this is the place to ask this, but I've always wanted to know how to make a custom hairstyle!!
Is it possible to find out how to, so we can submit them and maybe have them in game?!
I don't know what program to use, but I think it would be neat!
Thanks!!

RE: Some questions!

If I could access eAthena boards I'd tell you but yeah....
As best as I can remember it is the same concept as creating a new sprite...

RE: Some questions!

To make a hairstyle is the same way as making any other ragnarok sprite, you can find some info about sprite/palleting here: Click me!

As being the same as making a normal sprite you have to make all the head positions and lots of other required stuff to do. Not really hard, specially if you have some drawing skills, but it may take some time to understand it all Icon_biggrin
Good luck on spriting No1

RE: Some questions!

I've read all the posts by it, but i sadly cannot get the sprite sheet that gives me the basic .bmp to work from, since its download directory is down. (the forum it links me to)

Hopefully i can seek out some premade bmp sprites so I can recreate from there Icon_cry

RE: Some questions!

Head over the R.U.N.E. it'll be the best place to ask questions and learn.

Once you've completed a sprite, feel free to submit it to us for heRO, we are always happy to see what our player base makes, however we offer no guarantee that we will add player's creations.

RE: Some questions!

Where is R.U.N.E? I'm sorry if I don't understand T__T

Thank you for the encouragement! I hope I can make some neat looking ones!

Edit:

I tried looking in the data for this game for bmp sprites, but I couldnt get an image for a starter.

I was looking on the Paletting 101, and they link me to another forum that is currently down for sprite sheets (apparently?)Icon_suprised

http://wiki.ro-enhance.net/index.php?tit...etting_101

You can see about half way down (Hair palettes) the links i'm provided take me to a forum that doesn't work. I hope its up soon!

I'm sorry if I am asking too many questions!!
Making hairstyles seems like so much fun ^___^

RE: Some questions!

Seems rune is reshaping itself.

Well ok then, since the main resource is down I'll give you a few pointers to doodle with.

Go to this site:
http://eamirror.skamfroj.net/

Show the client stuff.
Download SPR ConViewer
Download Gryff
Download actOR

To put it simply Gryff can open .grf files, I suggest you open your sdata.grf and you extract an official hairstyle that you'll use as base. Just understanding the structure of the sdata might take some time, but you're not in any rush hopefully.

SprCon is used to view spr files, and also to unpack / repack them.

Your future hairstyle will be composed from a series of .bmp files that will show the different views front, quarter side, side, quarter back, back, being hit, dying, etc. Those .bmp files will be packed into a .spr files. They will also be accompanied by a .act file. The .act file tells the game where to position the sprite, more precisely at what height on the character.
