lower/upper case

i know it probably can't be changed, and i'm sorry if it turns out there was already another thread complaining/discussing this, but what was gravity thinking when they made character names case-sensitive?

first of all, it creates opportunities for ppl to fool other people (may even scam).
then it also makes PM difficult...

i mean what was their primary intention?
to let ppl use the same name over and over again?
take "sniper"...
it can be "sniper", "Sniper", "sNiper", "snIper", "sniPer", "snipEr", ..., ..., all the way until it becomes "SNIPER"... (approximately 25 possibilities if I'm not mistaken)

then comes the complicating issue of the similarity between lower case "L" and upper case "i"...

lol it's just so absurd IMHO...
