Download Troubles

After taking a bit of leave from hero a bit, I decided to come back for a while, however. I'm having a bit of trouble with downloading the mini-patcher.

The file size is supposed to be around 40 MB, however, my downloads are always stopping at or around the 400- 600 KB range Not far past 1% into it.

Is there anything I can do here? or should I be complaining to my ISP?

RE: Download Troubles

Thinking

You are using the installer that is here?

Files updates

Full-Installer (made by GM-Loki)
Last update: April 2008
Size: ~1.2 GB
Download here: http://www.pandoraonline.net/installers/...taller.rar
Instructions:
- Download the file
- Extract the .rar with an extraction program such as WinRar, WinZip or 7zip.
- Run the .exe file to install.
- Once installed run the heRO link on your desktop and let it patch completely.
Note: This contains everything you need to play in 1 download!

I imagine so.

Make sure your firewall/anti-virus is not interferring. A download manager might be a way to make sure you don't loose your download if it stops. If it is easy to check with your ISP, then I'd say don't hesitate to check with them. There are some dl/up tools out there too, that let you check your speed which will tell you if it is your ISP.

Can't think of anything more right now. Maybe Loki, Vanadis or another player would have more ideas.

Good luck, wishing you an early welcome back Icon_smile

RE: Download Troubles

Oka wants the mini-patcher, not the full installer.

I just tried downloading it and it worked fine, try again perhaps?

I made a mirror for you in case your computer has a problem with the main download link.

RE: Download Troubles

okay, I've gotten heRO installed again, but now I'm having troubles patching.
I get the patcher started, but then it just stops, and sits for tells me that it failed to download a file. It's ticking me off. I tried to log on to see,but I can't see the new hairstyles that have been added while I was away without getting an error.

Until now, it seemed like restarting the patch after each time seemed to help make a little progress, but it doesn't seem to want to let it download past hero20080704.gpf.

I tried restarting the patcher again this morning, but it now stops at older files that it already downloaded...

Is there a way to manually patch? this is giving me a bit of a headache...

RE: Download Troubles

I think you can download the patches manually and place in either the RO/ or RO/neoncube directory and then running the patcher. Not entirely sure though.

RE: Download Troubles

should have to be in your RO folder, but someone could always just patch their grf then host it. I'll make one later when I get home.

RE: Download Troubles

Yeah, best would be for someone to get your their hero.grf + neoncube.file and you drop those in your RO folder (replace), however if you're having trouble downloading that doesn't really solve your problem as that's a 50MB download.

RE: Download Troubles

At least the download manager will save me the hassle of having to restart the patcher over and over and over again, and it has proven far faster than the default download speeds so far.
