RE: So do pets use skills?

In my experience, pets have always just been there for kicks n giggles 8/

Pets maybe great at the start, but later on you'd want to keep the exp to yourself, furthermore there's the risk of afking and them running away, people like me forget to egg them 8P

Whether or not a pet has skills is not much of a concern to me Icon_biggrin;
and looters don't require armor? Does that mean the poring family doesn't require backpacks to loot?

Anyway, if you can find a way to give custom pets more performance options I'm all for that ^~^

RE: So do pets use skills?

no, only the custom pets. They loot the moment they are born Icon_razz

Sometimes they are more than laughs and giggles. I use my aliot pet to fight some tough non-undead enemies on my high priest, just because I deal 1000 dmg *per hit* this way while I do nothing but tank (as I can't damage the boss in any other way anyway.) The custom high level pets are quite usable if you can tank while the pet pounds away. Aliot is almost as effective as Lif using mental charge, only that you have to tank.

Also passed wizard job test for laughs without casting a single spell. I just run in circles spamming novi pots while my pet goes out for slaughter XD

There are many creative strategies out there. Sometimes, things that exist "surely only for laughs" may find practical purposes unintented by Gravity or even heRO GMs.

i think the backpack accessory for poring family only allows them to carry more items, but i don't know for sure.

RE: So do pets use skills?

no worries, was just pointing out that there was an exception to a previous statement. and I'm pretty sure I've seen zealtous use sonic blow, but I've been wrong before. As for custom pets, I'm not certain ALL of them have a skill (I certainly don't think my Lesavka has one)

HibikiTheAlchemist:  9x/5x Biochemist
~~Rose:  99 Lif (First homunc on heRO to evolve!)
Hibiki:  95/50 Brewer alt
Rogue Skye: 91/50 Dagger Rogue/Farming alt
Blueberry Poring: 8x Monk
Arrow Chucker: 7x Bard
Shotgun Sinner: 7x Shotgun/Launcher Gunslinger
Rapid Fire Redemption: 7x Revolver/Gatling Gunslinger

Zealy could well have sonic blow. There's a flag in the server configuration that lets pets use skills without equips. On heRO, that flag is off.

RE: So do pets use skills?

actually the reason i asked.. was because i'm making an ME priestess, and from what i remember, on a more custom server, my me priestess killed all the demon and undead stuff, and my baphomet jr killed everything else.

Character: Kelta 8x fs high priest

there is no quitting ragnarok. some day you will be back. back until the day that the game simply no longer exists. and then you will create your own version of ragnarok. because it lives in your blood.

RE: So do pets use skills?

Very noobish question, but how do I get a pet to attack? How do you use pots on them?

RE: So do pets use skills?

Your pet will attack by itself to come to your defense when you are attacked, this will depend on its intimacy, the higher it is the more chance it will try to help you. You can't throw pot on them, that's only for alchemist's homunculi.
