Well In terms of Moderating Ventrillo I can Help with that since ive had previous experience as a vent server manager and Mod, also the fact IM ALWAYS ON IT SHEESH!!!

Bringing back topic because I was directed here and confused as to whether there is one or not.

From one thread I got that Pandora should be hosting now that the computer is elsewhere (at least from what i gathered from the 12hr+ downtime)

And the other (this one) that there should be one done?

Guilds come and go and both myself and Avo aren't heavy members of the community so we don't necessarily know if a guild is active or one has just been created and really, we're doing this for free in our spare time which means we cannot moderate it to the extent that this forum for example is being moderated so no, no private channels at this time.
On better news, hoping to clear some space in the coming week in getting this up. Post New Year's workload has hit us both really hard.

When you rent a Ventrillo server, I think of it as a separate server that the Ventrillo company owns that is on it's own dedicated high speed connection and the renter/moderator(s) run it remotely. Is this accurate?

No this ventrillo server is ours, we have a server that we installed the server side of vent on. There are vent companies out there but they require actual paying.
It's a slightly older version because the newer ones have a 8 person restriction unless you have a licence. We tried buying the licence only to be told that they only sell to companies which was just plain ridiculous.
