most likely GMs have seen it and are not replying because they are discussing it amongst themselves as to whether or not this would be a good idea to implement.

i have seen it in the past that when GMs don't respond to a suggestion, then they are discussing it amongst each other and usually will give positive response to the suggestion. this isn't a guarantee, but i would imagine since i have seen Ayu and Panda on since this topic was posted, it is a pretty good bet that they're talking about it.

@krim - you're getting down to a nitty-gritty fine line of things with your "definitions." in theory it would be botting, in practicality, if we use your definitions, then every action taken in the game by anyone would be considered botting as they could not be constantly doing anything all the time. you have to have a grace period before defining what is and is not botting. a typical bot check takes probably on average 5 minutes, so if you make the auto log go off in 3 minutes, you're in that "safe zone." you have to understand you can't catch everything, and you can't ban everything, or else you'd have been banned long ago for suggesting a server wipe

@Frogboy Seriously though, when we find we need to discuss *among the gm's* we usually mention it in the forum, thread involved.

As for the Ai mod, I find the idea interesting. Does it work after you don't move for 3 minutes (theoretical) or don't do anything in the client like talking main/guild/party/normal chat?

Though it always comes back to the fact that its not hard to do alt-t when you get up to change the channel/get food/go scream at your sibling.

i think it's a great idea, but perhaps 3 minutes would be too annoying for some ppl... perhaps 5 minutes would be a better limit.

yes people fall asleep, forget to log out, have emergencies, etc, thus i think this script would really come in handy.

Just remember, if it were allowed, there'd need to be a nice balance between the time people would really be sitting for, and how long a GM can take waiting to bot check.
If GMs had to wait 5 minutes for every alchemist they can across. <<

The homunc AI shouldn't react at all to the person typing. The timer works off the last movement/action the person undertook. As such, if you fail to move your char at least every 3 minutes your client will auto shutdown.
