Error When Starting HeRO

Hello. I'm from Midgar's most unblanced server, [another server], and I keep seeing ads for heRO so I figure I'd give it a try. I assume everything went well during installation, yet, when I try to start it, it crashes. Im use to unexpected errors but this happens everytime I try to open heRO.
This is the info in the error that I recieve.

Job : Novice

So obviously its the novice job that is making me error. Any kind of advice would be very useful and I would greatly appreciate it. I liek to try various server's and this one has caught my eye for some time.
Sorry for all the text but I know that providing evidence is best when dealing with these situations.
Thank you for your time.

EDIT: now that I think about it....should i open heRO through the file or from the desktop shortcut? One server I played I had to do that. I'll try to be a l33t hax0rz and tweek te files but any help would be appreciated.

RE: Error When Starting HeRO

Are you running it through the updater?

Also, if you haven't uninstalled any previous RO versions that used the Gravity folder, you might want to wipe the Gravity folder clean and install heRO only.

RE: Error When Starting HeRO

Well I play [another server] and I have a completly seperate file for it. I have downloaded multiple servers and have never encountered this problem before.
I have tried running it several diffrent ways too. I went thru the patcher as well as the .exe file and regardless I get the same error.
I know the heRO file is secure in my RO folder b/c it is the only server installed there currently. [the other server] shouldnt be messing it up and honestly I have spent too much time and money on [that other server] to just delete it.
Any other suggestions?

RE: Error When Starting HeRO

Be sure your sakray and hero patcher are updated if they are, install the hero full installer on a different folder.
EDIT: And if you have a "data" folder inside RO's, rename it anything else and try running again.

RE: Error When Starting HeRO

I'll try to re-install I suppose. I dont have a folder named Data but there is one file called dta.something . I had renamed it tho and thought it would be a problem.
I just install the full version I guess.

RE: Error When Starting HeRO

Its best to make sure to install each server in different folders I'm afraid.

Do make sure you are updated thru our heRO patcher and with Sakray as well.

If all else fails, post a screenshot of your folder with all the files in there and it will help us to help you out Icon_smile

RE: Error When Starting HeRO

Using either the launch form patcher or directly the hero.exe should work equally so that's not the issue.

I recommend installing heRO in a separate folder, with our full installer if you can. If you prefer to keep it all in one folder it's usually doable but sometimes require a bit of tweaking, a screenshot of your RO folder would help us help you with that.

Make sure your sakray is updated, that's sometime a reason that make you crash on startup like that, check the size of your sdata.grf, it should be well over 1 gb, it not you need to download a full sakray (or our full installer).

Lastly, check your setup.exe, although I assume it should be fine since you can play elsewhere, just in case, make sure all setups are ok for your graphic card and sound options.

On a side note, we prefer that other RO private server are not mentioned, although I know you weren't advertising sometimes it can be seen as such, thanks. ^_^
